My DH & I have done it, just the two of us, and it was fun, but I think it's more fun with a couple more people. We got the idea from going to a Sign & Dine evening sponsored by our local Deaf/HOH Advocacy agency. That experience spurred us to do it on our own. Mainly because the event itself wasn't a lot of fun. It wasn't run well, food wise, and also people clumped only with people they know and sat that way all evening. We did see a couple we knew from ASL class and we tried to play with them. Trouble was we didn't come equipped with our dictionaries LOL! So we spoke too much and were balled out by the staff person. Before we go back to one of the sponsored ones, we want to do our practicing and feel a little bit less stupid next time. *And* we'll bring our dictionaries, text books and our cell phones for looking up stuff.

Thinking about what all the contractor will try and get done tomorrow. I know he plans on getting the soil compacted for the next test.

Thinking about how nice & quiet it was on this site until a few members are now bickering over the stupidest shit. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Thinking about Dixie. Wondering how she's doing.
Also thinking about some of the others who left AD.

Wirelessly posted
Going to miss the lip reading class. We shared our stories & journeys. We became kind of close & supportive because we all have hearing loss. Some had new CIs. Etc. Teacher brought cookies & lemonade.

Thinking that on another motorcycle forum that I frequent, discussing politics has been banned forever, and anyone stirring up political shit (like Waterboy and a few others do here) will get a 2-week vacation. Makes for a calm & mostly rational forum. Great idea, IMHO.

Thanks. I figured she was over there. I have no desire to check out that forum. I'm happy here.

I'm thinking about finishing typing up the papers for my Deaf events. The requirement was for five, and I've been to ten, but I just don't wanna!!! I would rather do stuff, than write stuff, but it's for school, so I guess I'll finish it now. I hope everyone's having an awesome day today
