Thinking that Joey's leg that had the tumor removed is much less swollen today, and he seems to be feeling somewhat better.

Also thinking that if he survives until Halloween, I am going to buy him a really cute costume like a bumblebee or ladybug which are his two favorite toys.

Posted this to my Facebook page:

It's one thing to have musical tinnitus, but it's another thing to have the song do what this one has been doing for the past 5 weeks. This comes from being raised in a total musically inclined family and playing the piano. I had the beginnings to a song playing and "hearing" part of the treble clef notes. It made no sense to me, but I thought it was one of 2 songs from church. Then, after about 2 weeks, I got more notes in the bass clef range. Still no clue, but knew it wasn't what I thought it was. Then, low and behold, I wake up this morning to the full musical score and a memory that blew me away. I was playing the piano, my father was playing the flute and my brother, Paul was on my father's guitar and the song was: Color my World by Chicago. What a memory trip for me. I miss hearing actual music and I really miss my father on the flute.

Good memories!....That's what life's all about...this was really awesome, Kristina

I've been deaf 50 some years, and still remember my grandfather's voice and his pickin' on the banjo, my grandmother on the violin also....she had a sweet, tiny voice, my grandfather had sort of a high, gruff voice. Right now, my musical tinnitus has kicked in...and singing "Do You Remember Every Promise"....that was my grandfather's favorite, and still remember the banjo strings (the way they sounded) as he playedpicked that song.

Thumbs up

I'm thinking about being able to answer our home line phone any time I want, and making calls to older relatives I've lost touch with, as well as busy friends. I am smiling! Used to have pleasant visiting phone calls but haven't been able to do so for many years now. I am going to get a CaptionCall phone and be able to answer the home line without worry that it won't come through captioning through the special # on the Captel phone or through TTY. Amazing how many friends & family have dropped off the radar who are too busy to email, don't text, don't write snail mail letters... I feel like a barrier is about to come down.

I am thinking about the Deaf Coffee Chat this coming Saturday. Also thinking about poor Tinkerbell. (my female cat). She is in more pain and basically sleeps all the time now. She is losing a lot of weight as well and she didn't have much to begin with. She still can jump from the floor up to the bed and does try to eat in the kitchen where the food is, but generally does not eat more than 2-3 bites. We bring the food bowl in to her on my bed once a day and she is not drinking much water. The vet has said that if she wants a little milk, then we are to water it down for her. She likes that. Thinking we may have to put her down soon. That will be heartbreaking for my daughter.

Thinking Joey is happy he got his stitches out today. And so am I.

Now we just have to watch for recurrence of his cancer. But it's something to celebrate that he got through the surgery so well, and is feeling good and happy for now.

Are you having rain? Or did your contractors make some horrible mistake?

I'm thinking I am *so not* ready for our hotter weather, which arrived today. Thank goodness for A/C!

Thinking what a pain it is to pack for a weekend trip to Wash DC. Today will be hot and tomorrow will be cold & wet. Doesen't help that I' packing a backpack instead of a small suitcase. Since I'm taking the train I want to be able to have my bag with me all day tomorrow so I don't have to worry about getting back to the hotel to get it before heading to the train station. Though with the rain we may end up just hanging at the hotel since this is a mini family reunion.

Thinking about getting some chores done, as much as I can with the arthritis. I have motivation! A couple from our ASL class is coming over tomorrow afternoon and we are going to play ASL Scrabble and have some take-out together. We want to keep practicing our ASL as new classes won't begin until Fall. So we thought we would play Scrabble, having to finger-spell (and the rest of the players recognize) the word before we can play it. Then also sign the word. We will have our ASL books and dictionaries on the table.
