No, No, No. You are totally in denial. You are back peddling, and you were suggesting for her to sign it in a circular motion. You know it, and we all know it.

I will state again what I stated before- everyone has their own signing style.
I have seen SEE and people signing in SEE and they dont use those signs in a circular motion.

Can Angle step up to clear the air, what is she learning - ASL or SEE?
She never clarified in her posts. Posts without enough information like this causes confusion with everyone.

No need to apologize Sunny. I'm trying to attach a picture from the SEE dictionary and it's not working. Give me a minute.

I'm thinking it's time to wear a sweater in the house!! Man, MIL's heater just can't get to the bedrooms and it's freezing in here.

Going back to the B,L,D stuff. As most of you know, I am just, still, continuing to learn ASL. I did find that the class I took was PSE. The instructor was hearing and just had a love for ASL. He taught us to use both the "tap the chin" B,L,D. He also taught the "eat + morning, noon, night" signs. He said both were totally acceptable and to realize that some people are taught to rotate or circle the initialized sign, but that it was not really accepted at all. He said it was one of the older ways to do signs and he was not sure how old. He also thinks it was a regional difference as well.

I am the opposite...my heater's thermostat is broken and it is blowing tooo much hot hot air making this house feel like a sauna. The tech is coming today between 1 to 5 PM to fix it. I was sweating in my sleep overnight which caused me to wake up with a headache.

I don't think she even knows herself what she's actually learning.

21st of December? That was the beginning of the holidays, your email was most likely overlooked and forgotten. Email them again with your CV attached and this time, to ensure you get a response, ask a question that compels an answer.

Okay. Hopefully this works. This is from the SEE dictionary. Hopefully this clear things up. Again- I did not recommend anyone use these signs- I don't care who uses what. Just clarifying that I was not wrong in my statements.

Actually, I have seen this from friends of my daughter who learned SEE in school.

(Although I foresee a downturn in friendly attitudes since I dare to say so.)

I'm afraid not all dictionaries are created equal and this is from a SEE dictionary no less.

I'm thinking I really really really don't want to go outside! It's so cold today. With wind chill factor, it's -20 Celsius ( -4 F ). Damn it, if only i have food in my fridge and if only the movies were due back tomorrow. Argh. When I was growing up, my mother would slather this Mary Kay wax on my face on days as cold as this so I wouldn't get frostbite from the wind. I wonder if anyone still does that anymore.

Sunny- The SEE book did not "steer me wrong". I made a simple statement that in SEE, that is how it is signed. Nothing more, nothing less. My statement has now been corroborated by the pictures I provided from the SEE dictionary. I'm not saying that's how anyone has to sign it. All I was saying is that is how it is signed in SEE, which it seems is what Angle was taught.

Bott- you are you. Exactly who you should be, and I admire your sense of self. I would certainly hope no one would be immature enough to change their ways with you simply because you are the only one willing to acknowledge those signs do exist. You are making a statement of facts- and people shouldn't get funny because another person is making a factual statement.

And I can tell you this since I'm from the same area angle is in and I grew up VERY see. It definitely bounces. There's no circular.

Please don't force us to learn your way when there are regional signs as well. Accept it and move on. Share your knowledge but don't preach it. It was interesting to hear about what you have found, but don't call us wrong.

Right. I understand. But this not how SEE users sign it (as far as I have seen, raise use SEE). Dictionary say eadness valid word mean happiness...dictionary probably right...but who actually use word eadness? Just because dictionary show, not mean correct actual practice.

Sunny- this is from the SEE Dictionary. Whether or not people commonly sign it that way is really not the point. The point is, that is how it is that is how it is signed in SEE which is what I was addressing.

When was this dictionary published? From the looks of it, it looks like it was made in the late 70s to the early 80s. My workplace has them in the archives and some of us take them out and marvel how incorrect many of the pictures are.

I didn't call a group of people wrong. I responded directly to AlleyCat's statement that I'm "totally wrong" when in fact I wasn't. For the upteenth time, I was referring specifically to SEE.
