Shel-what a bummer.

I was not invited to any parties of my old friends, but I get used to it. I moved on and make some new friends. I am invited to a fire pit party on the last weekend of this month.

I have invited them to MY parties in the last 2 years (some of them my birthday parties) and they always denied being able to come due to being "busy" with other stuff. My hubby said that they (including my childhood friend) are NOT invited for my 40th bday bash in April. He is fed up with their bullshit too. Ok...

I think your husband has the right idea.

I wouldn't bother with anybody who had hurt my feelings that way more than about one time.

It's like giving them permission to kick you.

I'm thinking about all the helpful people at church. I fell this morning and a few of them helped me get up. No injuries except to my pride. I went to sit on my rollator, but I forgot to lock the wheels first.

I love turkey too. We usually make it at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year (my sister) and I know turkey is coming! But I think for Christmas I might do something different.

yes. it is true. i live in world where turkey contains paste, lamb tastes like hummus, you are fed chicken every day, and pie doesn't exist.

I forgot what part of Canada she is in. So it might be a toss-up as to who's closer. I think the one who is closer should get the turkey sandwiches. And if, in the event I'm 2nd closer, then I think who is 2nd closest should get the turkey sandwiches.

Gee: a 16 KG (almost 35 lb) turkey is huge. Hope you enjoyed it. Lots left over for a few days.

I hate turkey. I have had to deal with it for so long. I will tolerate it, but I much prefer Cornish Hens.

Lucky you mentioned that. I thought that was 8 pounds and was thinking Canadians didn't eat very much!
