My roommates and our families go to the lake every year. We have a picnic, play frisbee and board games, and eat junkfood all day, leading up to the fireworks

Going to drive down to New Orleans this weekend! Starting early tomorrow morning, then coming back on Tuesday. I am so freaking excited! Not only I will party on Bourbon St, but Ill also go fishing/canoeing around the marsh areas. Hopefully, no alligators will eat me...

I'll be at the VP Fair in St. Louis (yeah, I still call it that) meeting up with old friends, hearing and D(d)eaf. It will be a scorcher but I will have a friend at a booth giving away athletic drinks.

Nothing. I'm boring. Hopefully going to the carnival either Friday or Saturday night and then see the fireworks on Monday night.

We expect (and hope for) more Rain!....(due to wildfires in Fla. & Georgia). But are having Ribs, burgers & hot dogs & all the fixings. No fireworks this year....We'll eat outside on the Patio. Our flag is already a'flying! It's one of our favorite Holidays.

We are staying home, we will cook fry fish, potato salad, hush puppies, pork beans and I will make peaches cobbler on 4th of July. Maybe we might go shopping in town on Monday morning, 4th of July.

Sunday, my father in law is having a big cookout at his house so we will go to that. Monday, I got invited to join my friend for the Latino Deaf Association's annual 4th of July pool party. Will be my first time going to this event. Should be fun.

No plan yet. I think I'll be at some big and fancy park for fireworks time. Of course, we always will have nice dinner. Nom nom nom.

Are you planning on going over to the USA to have fun with your nephew on Deaf Youth Camping? Or are you planning on doing this in your Saskatoon area right here in your hometown?

They just lifted our burn ban, so there may be fireworks. We don't go since I hate crowds and it's too hard to keep track of my mother. I will be grilling burgers and dogs, we also have baked beans potato salad and cole slaw. Then I will grill some peaches and have ice cream on the grilled peaches. MIL has never had that and I was wanting to treat her. (remember, I am doing the killing with kindness process with her).

Agreed. I am not fond of the commercial displays, either. Too many people crowded. My nephew lives out in the country on several acres, and his house is where the family gathers for holidays. We set off legal fireworks at his house. The kids seem to enjoy it more than actually going to the display in town.

Everyone is having hot dogs here. This afternoon there were hardly any hot dog buns left on the store shelf. I managed to get the last 2 whole wheat hot dog bags. I hate white bread. I'm was happy!

Well now that Canada Day is over. My husband and his friend finally fixed the thermostat yesterday (Sunday night). But the weekend was over and we never got any rides to the Powwow ground in another reserve. Oh, well, we will have many powwows on the island and also a couple powwows on the mainland. I hope next year will be better than this year.
