I am thinking, why am I so depressed today? Seems like something is missing, but not sure what or why. I just know that I have to tell myself it will be alright.

I had those "feelings" several times over the years....even telling my friend..."something is missing in my life....I just don't know what it is"...

What's funny is, I know the reason for it, although not the exact root cause for it. Oh how I wish Jillio were here! I need a therapy session majorly!

If I could just get my mind to settle down to where I could actually concentrate would be a big help. If I can't get my mind settled down, it's useless for me to try and process things, especially when God's trying to talk to me. He doesn't scream at me anymore, He whispers.

you'll have to try to get your mind settled down on your own because Jillio can't be there all the time. I finally got to the point where I can easily shake it off like rain of duck's feather but it's tough for many because it would make you feel like you're a callous person and nobody likes that feeling.

oh well........

but you surely look like you could use some campfire talk. feel free to share with us.

Actually, I don't bother Jillio, but I'm sitting here thinking 'therapy would be nice.' then 'Jillio' just pops into my mind as she's the only therapist I know.

As for campfire talk, it's a long complicated story. I used to be able to shake everything off like a duck. But now? Not so. Have I lost my spine so to speak? I do know that my emotions were calloused over until they were slowly peeled away revealing their tenderness underneath.

oh I wasn't implying that. Just that we all should develop ability to effectively "defuse" it ourselves. I do agree that talking to therapist helps because he/she is teaching us how to do it ourselves. Some don't because they want to make you keep coming back. $$$$

I think he meant "black tea with milk." Green tea with milk - ew, does not go!

I bought some absolutely delish *white* tea (loose, not tea bags), mixed with berries and orange rinds and such, called "Youthberry" from a company called "Tevana." It is SO good. Very refreshing, hot or iced.

Dixie, do feel free to talk here if you want, but if you feel led to read the Bible: how about the Sermon on the Mount? "Blessed are those..." and include yourself in every "those" mentioned.

Or:

Psalm 91:4
He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust . .

Deuteronomy 33:12
The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between His shoulders.

I've heard of Tevana. very good site but pricey. Adagio is cheaper. I'm not actually sure but I think both uses same supplier

So far, I do not have to pay, as she is required to have a certain number of hours each month to maintain her licensing and she is the Quality Control officer. She inspects all the case files and makes sure the charts are in order. She is an LCSW/MSW SATOP certified therapist. SATOP is for Substance Abuse Traffic Offenders Program in Missouri. We are doing this as a favor for both of us. I help her get her hours in and she helps me with issues I am having. I will see if she can take another and if she has time if you want.

I wonder if someone can call and get her admitted on a psychiatric hold? Only at 45 and can't walk with no explanation, she really needs to see a doctor.

Interesting. I've never heard of Adagio but I'll check them out.

Tevana has a store in the mall I go to. The "Youthberry" thing was a special blend they were promoting that month; it's a mix of two other types that are listed on their website, but the blend they made up right in the store.

It is pricey, for sure. I don't buy it often, but it's a nice treat for myself sometimes. Plus, a little loose tea can go a long way, so per cup, it's not really quite as expensive as you'd think at first glance.

Teavana is better for blends and Adagio is better for regular tea but I like both sites. Doesn't hurt to compare prices on whatever you're buying.

I feel bad for not buying tea from my brother's friend but dang it's so pricey! My brother bought japanese loose tea from her store and it was very good but... $$$$$$$$$$$. It's so fresh and potent that you only need a fleck of it to make a cup of tea so a small bag will lasts you for a good few months.

You mean like alcohol poisoning ? That's really hard to deal with alcoholics. One of my grandfather was an alcoholic.

It damaged his body so badly that his hands just shook so much he couldn't even work. He died at 68, and no one could help him, as he did not want help and was very stubborn.

Talking here does not afford Dixie the confidentiality and nonjudgemental atmosphere a counseling session does. And, as far as I know, Oddball (as a VR counselor) and I am the only people here that are licensed to practice.

BTW...if you want to PM me, Dixie, there are a few things I can let you in on that just don't need to be posted publicly.

I looked up those passages and a couple others. Basically everything is coming down to that God will protect me, even from myself if that makes any sense. I need to be running to Him for protection like a chick runs to its mother hen for protection from whatever may come.
