Lots of cancer this month. My father in law is back in the hospital and his cancer is progressing much more quickly than they thought.

My mother in law is not dealing with it as well as he is.

In the case of our neighbors, I'm not totally sure. I know some of them got laid off and still have not found work. Maybe no money? Son has offered to mow for them, but MIL will not let him run all of our gas out. She bought the mower and buys the gas since it's her yard. We have 2 houses that are empty up the road that the owners have died and the wills state that the homes are NOT to go to family members due to drug abuse history. The family members are fighting the wills and therefore, the homes sit there with no mowing. It's a good thing he is keeping his spirits up with this. May he keep doing so. I know my MIL had a hard time dealing with it all. She was on the phone with my hubby every night for a good 6 months after we finally found out that FIL had cancer. She did not want us to know and have hubby worry. She seriously thought FIL would get better. Somehow, I would have thought she'd figure it out that he wouldn't. He had Alzheimer's, diabetes, "untreated" melanoma that eventually progressed into bone cancer and cancer of the organs. He went through 12 years of treatment for the melanoma then stopped since it kept coming back. We last saw him in 2006, and at that point the Alzheimer's was just beginning to get bad. I think that's the case here also. They are both kind of in denial. But he was just diagnosed recently.

He made it to end stage cancer with no symptoms and it was missed even with colonoscopy because it originated in the right colon.

The only reason they found it was they x-rayed him before doing surgery to replace a wire to an implanted defibrillator and saw masses on the liver.

Right now he has bleeding and malignant ascites, which is lots of fluid in his legs and even his back .

The doctor told my husband yesterday he thinks it is no more than a few weeks left , so it's kind of a sad time here.

I think I know that sign. The closet translation I can think of is opps but it's not quite right.

Oh I don't mind hearing good news about you. I don't see any reason for you to say sorry. Many of us were quite worried about you when you posted about your tumor.

The same action they took when they got busted for the live hangers slamming chickens on the floor and stomping on them in the hanging pen in a slaughter plant. Tyson paid mega-fines, settled, and promised better regulation and enforcement of animal welfare within the company. PFFFFTTTT! I know all too well how that actually went.

Of course it's one of those deals where if I say anything, I put my family in financial jeopardy, I put a friend in trouble, and I shoot myself in the foot with Tyson by being placed on a permanent no re-hire list.

Basically, nothing good would come of it so I'm probably better off just letting it go.

Well, I did have my iPhone with me at the time, but I didn't want to film what was being done. I mean I would feel like a sicko or something if I filmed it on my phone. Believe me, it wasn't entertaining.

I felt really happy to read your news! Different things happen in everyone's life, and there isn't any reason we can't be happy for another even in the midst of sadness in our lives.
