Kristina, if that were me, I would hand mop and bucket to MIL and tell her do it then walk off.

Well - she did do it today. Biggest problem is, her doctor has told her to not do any sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting or cleaning for the bathroom. Her balance is not good and her health is failing. She also does not like me using a broom to sweep with. Her kitchen is a tile floor that is not smooth. It's very bumpy and the grout lines are about 1/4 inch below the tile itself. She uses a vacuum and it doesn't get everything up. I use a broom and sweep it 3-4 times to make sure I get all the sand (gotta love FL for that sand). Then, I will mop with a tile cleaner she has, then mop again with vinegar water.

After she mopped today, I went in wearing sock like I always do, and I got all kinds of food particles stuck to my socks. She claims I did it on purpose. I asked her what food I had out, since all I did was get a paper towel. Also, the food was tuna fish. We don't eat tuna, she does.

I swear my dad and your MIL are related! I soooo can't wait to get out of here!!!

I have found the best solution for now is to just avoid him if at all possible. Saves the headache and frustration.

Bring her to my house. I'll tell her to ignore all of the pet hair and that I'm building the kids' immunity by having dirty floors. You will look so good in comparison that she'll appreciate you. lol

Somehow the tap handle on my kegerator came down while I was outside, and I just lost 5 gallons of primo homebrew all over the kitchen floor.

Hope your kitchen floor was clean prior to this. I'd get busy with a straw if I were you.

Unfortunately, since my kitchen floor is unlevel, most of it went under the baseboards and into the foundation, so there was nothing left to suck up with a straw. Bummer. I sprinkled some baking soda at all the points where it went into the foundation, but I have a feeling I'll be smelling the ghost of a French petite Saison for the next few weeks. . . .

You should contact KristinaB's MIL; I'm sure she would be glad to give you some housekeeping tips, especially for mopping your kitchen floor.

I know, but I'm laughing at Shel's post.

I, too, am sorry for Alex's loss. I really hope KristinaB's MIL will come visit and clean for him.

Sorry, couldn't resist. This whole line of posts was just too funny.

Too bad MIL can't handle the cold or I would send her, but then again, I would never subject TWA with her. He's too good for her. Maybe I should send her to a specific poster (he who shall not be named due to policies) just to clean up his mouth and act.

I'm off work for the weekend. Right now I am hoping to make a mad dash to the unemployment office to pick up a Tyson application on Monday.

shel, i know the feeling. I have not turn the heat on yet. Trying not to touch it as long as we can survive in a cold temperature in the house to avoid the huge bill. =X

Wish my hubby would learn to drink more water and eat more fiber and stop with all the milk and cheese. Don't like to deal with the after effects.
