I can sympathize! When I built my house 5 years ago, I had strobe fire alarm lights installed. Turned out one of them was defective. Some 3 or 4 months after moving in, I was rudely awakened by the strobes going off and I freaked out, thinking there was a fire. Searched the whole house and gathering cats along the way, and .... no fire. It kept on for many nights after until I finally called the electrician who installed them. Finally got a good night sleep's after that. But I'll never forget that first night when my heart nearly jumped out of my chest like that!

Wow, that's scary, at least it has been fixed. My fire alarm isn't strobe, it is just standard along with the security system, the ADT blue light was flashing outside when I noticed, it was my brother casuing the smoke when he was cooking the steaks and forgot to open the windows, I had to run to disarm it.

Ouch, consider to copy the text before you post, just when you are in unstable internet area, especially your work.

I never use quick reply, just use full reply and when in case if internet is outage so I can click on back to copy all of texts.

I do that sometimes I forget, because it is pretty much unpredictable when it would happen again - I am in the presicely good internet speed area but it is the unstable IE broswer I use, I hate it and is the only broswer I can use here :/

Yeah, I just wish they could let us have our own preference to whichever broswer I can use, I love using google chrome, I use it all the time at home, and it is the fastest broswer I have ever experienced with along with FF.

I could, even I could use my own laptop at work as I have created a small wifi in my office, but what's the point, I get used to these outages but it is more often, and I am waiting for the Windows 7 rollout, still on Windows XP.

What about security cable, that can connect to your laptop to stop the theft?

I don't know if it is helpful but I heard about some students with expensive laptops got beat up on parking lot and steal their laptops, even I do know about one student's MacBook Pro got beat up and took his MBP away in last spring so he decided to left college after incident occurred.

I prefer to leave my MacBook Pro at home, just better than being sorry.
