It could be that it's different for you in Canada. Here, some people stay (live) in group homes for a very long time. I know of some who have lived in them for 20+ years. It depends on what care is needed, how it can be provided, and if it can be provided elsewhere. (e.g. if a person is capable of eventually living on their own, or in "assisted living", etc.) Those who don't fall into independent categories often stay/live in group homes indefinitely.

I learned that I actually have dropped 3 clothing sizes. I was not really checking much, but we took my measurements today and boy did I shrink!

Somebody swapped pillows and paid only $18 for a $30 pillow. BTW - I like shopping at Target and did not know they now carry memory foam pillows. I may have a look the next time I am there.

Personally, I think drunk driving is worse, but the state doesn't...

Drunk driving puts countless people at risk, theft hurts countless people - the emotional sting of it as well as the physical loss of property.

I've seen the deadly effects of drunk driving - innocent people die.

I've been a victim of theft - it takes years to recover.

But with the prison overpopulation problem they are giving more lenient sentences to non-violent offenders even though the drunk driver hit a woman that had to be taken by EMS to a local hospital and the driver was lucky enough to walk away from the accident scene. Somehow that's 'non-violent' despite trauma being involved.

Just saying we've got a messed up penal system.

Guess it's not for you.. I used to love avocados till I started to get really sick from them. I'm told they have high levels of latex and I have a latex allergy. I like mangos but I'm leery of them cuz they have high levels of latex too and I'm not going to spend the next two days in the bathroom throwing up. I've only eaten mangos in tiny amounts.
