What does a Real (True) Friend mean to you?

Hi!

I am wondering what a real (true) friends mean to you?

will this situation as a example means a real friend?

A person and I was a close friend for long time, found out that she turned her back and backstab my name. A person accused me with some things I don't do and refused to resolve the issue such as ingore my email or VP call. A person shows that she don't look at between friendship but listen to people about me.

Even a person told me before that she has a "vibes" saying that our friendship are just fine and realized that few people are jealous of our friendship. Then later on, she decided to turn her back on me and backstab me.

What is this? A true friend do that? I don't think so...

Losing a friend can be very painful in some situations. All at one time, when I was going thru a divorse, my friend of 15 years turned her back on me also.
I tried to "repair" the friendship (it was nothing I had done to her)...she refused!....To find out she had been having an affair with my husband, but he did not marry her.

I still see her time to time, but she turns her head. I feel it's out of shame but I hold no bad feelings toward her! My ex was a dog.....

True friends are very hard to find. I can count them on my hand, the true ones.
True friends are there for you, in good or bad and won't turn their backs on you.

One time I had to hide a corpse my friend came and helped.

True friendship.

True friend does not lie nor telling others not to tell me. It broke my heart but wound heal over the time and it will never be same again. I don't think they understand what a real/true friend mean.

Simply put... unconditional love, acceptance and support.

My friends will pat me on the back instead of kicking me on the ass.

I have a best friend whom I went to college together. We have been friends for 30 years. She is one of the truest (and best) friends.

To me it means a friend will always be there even when you are at the worst time in your life.

I'm so sorry, but that is no true friend to you. I can offer you a hug.

A true friend will not spread your gossip to other people, always will be there to offer advice, support, a shoulder to cry on, will make time for you when you are in need of her company. That's what a true friend is.

Someone who is not a hypocrite. Saying one thing and not meaning it. Or disrespecting you behind your back.

I had folks around that I thought were friends until I got sick. I had a few left until I lost my hearing. Now, I have few, but they are great. One I've had since first grade. That is impressive when you realize I am a grandma! My others I've had since I was in my late teens or early 20's.
What makes them so great? They kick my butt and make it real when I need it. They are also the first ones with their arms out when I need a hug. They are the ones who learn sign language, remember to send text or emails. They are also the ones who can turn it around and make the nastiest jokes. Like mouthing without words, I cant see what your saying.... hey...!!!

What Is A Friend

Someone who communicates clearly. (Or at least tries to.) Someone who doesn't expect me to think/act/have the same values as Hearing or NT people. I don't expect everyone to think or be like me. Just..."try to be more honest."

Hmm....

Someone who will go to jail with you after doing a silly thing and laugh with you about it instead of leaving you behind to suffer the consequences.

Someone who will slap you upside the head and honestly tells you what they think and hug you afterwards, after all they are looking out for you.

Someone that will help you with anything, (even burying a body LOL like posts from hell says).

Someone that will stand by you even when you have made a mistake and knows it.

Someone that will hug you close and let you cry and slobber all over them when you are hurting.

Someone that knows you very well and holds all of your secrets no matter how awful they are.

Someone that defends you to people when they say nasty things about you.

Someone who takes the time to help you with anything even if they don't have the time to do anything.

Someone who will come over and hang around your house, eat your food, play your games, play with your kids as if they live there too.

And who knows what else.

I am lucky to have two such friends.

My Manfriend and my best friend who lives thousands of miles away and yet we talk everyday.

Dgirl, that is my thought too. My friends walk right in my house (no door flasher anyway) go the the fridge, get drink and snak, plop on sofa, make dogs move to other end and and will just be happy that we are together. They laugh at me too if I need it. I love my friends so much.

A true friend who would be there for you through thick and thin.

I have 2 (one is hearing (10 years)/another is deaf (22 years) They have been there with me, I was there for them and today we are bestest of buddies.

A true friend helps you through tough times, who believes you over stupid people.

A true friend sticks by you and listens

A true friend is a friend who treats you as equal as you do to them.

I have a best friend and we've known each other for a year but since day 1 we've spoke every day, she listens to me and understands me, appreciates me for who i am
