Balance issues--I have them! Anyone else?

I fell off a step ladder today while cleaning. Fortunately, I broke my fall and didn't break anything. I used to have great balance but it's getting worse over time. I had my HAs in. I guess that I'm going to have to be more careful. I'm not getting back on that ladder today!

oh my lordy! good to hear that you didn't break anything. I don't know anything that can contribute to your problem except - "i guess we're just getting old and it isn't what it used to be before" :dunno:

No, Jiro, it is from the inner ear. I have bad balance problems. It is very common in deaf people, although not all have them by any means. I have much trouble to walk in the dark.

Oh, yea, the stumbling in the dark thing! I've got that problem, too. It's dangerous to walk. LOL!

Ahh...ur little doggie has won my heart! Such a cutie....ur right, it's inner ear problem. Had it all my life (just about). I could not wear heels at night, I "staggered" as if I were drunk....some people even asked me if I had been drinking. Oh well, I've gotten to the point to where I'm more careful, wear good walking shoes, but I still stumble over my feet at times. And can't take heights! Make me dizzy.

I have major balance problems! I am actually injured right now because of it!
 Be careful with those ladders too! A few years ago I fell off and shattered my wrist. I hear there are exercises you can do to help. I haven't looked into it though.

My hubby has bad balance problems. I notice after he got a CI about 5 years ago. His balance seems to get worse. Interesting.

I have a slightly balance problem but not too obviously. I always thought that i am such a clusmy girl. :o

I only lose my balance if I have ear infections. I kept walking into the wall. Yak! I don't have any major balance issues due to my ears. Don't know why.

Glad that you're all right.

I think I'm just a clumsy person, but never know, it could have something to do with the inner ear. :dunno:

Sometimes I have problems with balance but it's not a major issue.

I have had balance problems since my birth because I have a flat foot.

Soon I will get a pair of new support for my feet so they will help me balance at correct level.

I do have. I can't do skate board it tough to balances.

Have you feel strange when sudden lost balance.

Several times fell wrong way worst is when you stand on ice bam you slip it hard to balance.

Hike up in the hill at night and I ended up crawled down the hill. I only hike at night with full moon. SM destroyed my inner balance.

:giggle: :giggle:....Went to a party once, their apt, was on the 3rd floor, in an old house,,,the outside steps (outside), were "wrap around" and very steep!....Didn't have too much of a problem getting up there, as long as I held onto the railing....but when the party was over, late that night....I could not come down!....Spent the night there....what a bummer!
