....it works!


Rememeber the other thread I created few months ago? I got my first VP but turned out it didn't work, and it has been confirmed as it is a defective VP!!!

But the good news, I got two VPs which arrived in the mail today - one is the same DLINK Vp but a brand new one, not yet touched.... and the other is Viable VPAD, yes, Viable VPAD --- both of them worked just fine! :D

Thank god.

And in the end, many attempts to get the set up done, and it is a NIGHTMARE, and still experiencing the problems but I managed to call one of the AD'ers and it works fine -- the problem is the IP address >.<

At the least, but the best..

Where did you buy those VPs? From e-bay?
 
Great to hear, JClarke! :)

With the recent rule by the federal [US] regulator on videophones, I don't see how IP addresses can be continued being used once they start with the 11-digit telephone numbers.

There should always be a way to call with IP addresses, since down here we use them :roll:
 
hip, hip and HUZZAH!!!

i sent Dlink (vp) to my parents then i went my parents' home to set it up for them. Its worked but of course, have to use IP address anyway. It's always nice to have this communicate device!

Once the IP address is being fixed, then you can be able to call me! :dance:

Australia is slow. We use IP address, but I hope to see if there is a way to call with IP address, but I believe they can automatically convert to anyone's phone number from the directory.

Of course, Maria.... but the DLink is still having problems, still searching for answers! But I got plenty of time, and I still can chat with friends as I have the Viable VPAD :)
 
I have the VPAD at work at the moment and I am going to try and see if my work can permit to have it connected ;)
 
My Dlink VP suddenly died last night and is no longer functioning anymore. I give up on Dlinks - but I still have the VPAD, it is OK. I have ordered another VPAD for work.

I can be contacted by Viable VSN only, but if you want to have a chat with me and you don't have VSN, you only need to PM me your IP address and I will be gladly call you with the IP address directly from my VPAD. I know that incoming calls are not ready to be used in the VPADS yet though.

You will get new 10-digit phone number soon or after December 31, 2008 under FCC rule. You can call someone who have any SVP200 VP, OJO, D-Link VP, VPAD, MVP, Z VP, etc. Eliminating public IP numbers.
 
Ok, this time, after many many attempts, and many lessons learnt. My final chance on my hopes with the Dlink DVC 1000 - finally works this time. I was able to call friends and receive incoming calls now. If you feel like a chat, want to check out my ASL skills or want to meet me on VP - please feel free to shoot me a PM and I shall give you my IP address and/or my 10 digit number.
