yea that's how the bees identify the targets (flowers). They just see colors in different spectrum than humans they're more sensitive to UV spectrum than us. That's the easiest way for bee to identify the best flowers with juicy nutritions.

In Remote Sensing (just some satellite job), every single plant on Earth gives off different kind of wavelength. See below - see those colors? That's kind of how bee sees, identifies, and remember that color of juiciest plants like - red = JUICY! blue = YUCK! Just an extra tidbit of useless info to know!

good question but silly one as well lol. Remember - bee sees things in UV spectrum. We don't give off much UV spectrum because we're not photosynthesis-based organism. Plants are so they give off certain spectrum. Let me show you what the hell am i talking about -

Left = human's eyes | Right = bee's eyes

They are attracted to darker color. The darker it is, probably the juicer. That's why you always hear your mom telling you and you telling your kids - wear lighter color clothes when you go to picnic!

I, being a red-head try to go out doors only in early day or late evening because I blister really bad. Also with having red hair comes with the pail skin and the allergies, I can't even think about carrying a penny to pull out the venom or cool the bite, I have to carry what they call an "Anna Kit" with me at all times. It is a preloaded syringe in a red water-proof container that has strong medication in it to prevent anti-philactic shock. My entire respiratory system swells and shuts down and I get huge whelps and blisters all over my body plus I swell up all over. If I don't carry my Ann-kit it is the difference between dying from shock -OR- having a painful area where I got stung at then had to stick myself with a needle and be grouchy about it but living. I have also learned to keep some type of tiki lamp or outdoor torch or something that you light and has some smoke with it or carry one of those things that looks like a genie bottle that you make a little fire in that smokes a bunch. When you get around anything flying that stings it usually goes away from any type of smoke. That is how you get rid of any nests or hives or anything, you smoke it out and they leave for a little while and you can demolish the whole thing and leave before they get back.

It's important to note again that removing a honeybee stinger, usually still filled with yet un-injected venom, is important for any honeybee sting victim, with or without allergies. Do NOT pinch or press the sac, or more venom will be injected. Scrape it off with the edge of a credit card, pen knife, or fingernail.

Local swelling is NOT a sign of impending anaphylaxis. It is normal to ALL bee stings.

Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening hypersensitivity -- usually to proteins such as bee or rattler venom, peanut butter, penicillin, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Yes, those victims with allergies causing breathing problems should use the kit, then NEVER delay transport to the nearest emergency facility.

The two reactions from stings are VERY different.

Cow's penises? I hope you didn't learn that in school. For sure you didn't grow up on a farm!

Like you posted, cow patties and horse cookies, bat guano, bone meal, earthworm casings, etc., are used to make the farm soil more fertile. The more "natural" the fertilizer is, the more "yuck" factor but the results are yummy.

I have been stung by hornets while mowing lawn. I stepped on hornet nest which was hidden in the ground. It stungs top of my head and other stung on my left ear. Stung spot swells up and my head show bump and left ear was flopped one side. I had to use baking soda and water mixed into a paste then put paste on stings. I had to sit there for 1/2 hours and swellings went away but I was sneezing alot and watery eye after that because of Histamine contained in Hornet's venom. I had to take anti-histamine medication. After that I grabbed the wasp killer spray and sprayed at the spot where hornets nest are. I waited till next day then finished mowing lawn.

Baking soda + water = paste will help absorb venoms and help reduce swellings. It was an old time cure tho.

I didn't know copper pennies would help stings. I would try that if I get stung. I was stung few times in my life. Worth a try.

It is quite interesting how the bees see the flowers different from how we see it.

No wonder the bees loves the pizza: yellow cheese and pineapple.

Bees are great for making honey. But I am also allgeric to bees stings. I remebered got bee stings when I was 10 years old and my hand got so swollen badly from a bee stings took 10 days to heal while on antiobotics. If you get bee sting, Bees leave behind a stinger attached to a venom sac. Do not try to pull it out as this may release more venom; instead gently scrape it out with a blunt-edged object, such as a credit card or dull knife or go to doctor. So, insect stings are allergic reaction can be fatal to some people from bee stings and others are lucky they not too allgeric.
