cut more trees to heat your home which is not good.

another thing is ... are u allergic to wood smoke? if you are .. then you are best not to use wood stove.

growing up we used wood stove and i always constantly get sick every winter. Finally my mom said no more wood stove so she went and bought gas to heat the house up. First winter I wasnt sick? WTF?? thats when we learned I AM ALLERGIC to wood smoke!

so something to think about... its a big decision i know.. sighs..

I only use a wood stove now for the past 3 years and I love it.  As for gas for my car, I intend to park it for the next few months and will walk to work.

I use my wood stove when the temperature is below 45 degrees, cold rain, or if we have no electricity as we use electric heat.

I own 2 fire-places. I use them mostly than oil heater. Every Autumn we order full load of woods to us to prepare for winter...

I rather to think positive than negative one...

My husband and I use oil burner to heat the house which is kind of expensive but we need it to keep warm. My husband use the wood stove in his hut outside of our house and he spend his time there when he is working on his project. As for gas it is getting ridiculous expensive and we don't have any choice because we live in the country.

I hardly use heater. I like to being connect with cold weather. Wear thick cloths, save money.

I don't like burn wood, it's not good environment. That mean you kill some tree. Bird lost their home.

We worried a lot and already we have separate electric heat in each room and just turn up high in room we are using. This saves lots of money.

One of the reasons I'm moving to the country before next fall and winter is 100% heat and some cooking will be from woodstoves.

I'm already stocking up. There is enough natural deadfall on the place so no live trees need to be cut, but even if they did, wood is a renewable source and there's so much of it where I live in Oregon. If you don't use it, it just lies there and rots.

I safely used wood as primary fuel in Montana, and like the smell very much, though I realize it bothers some.

Not worry since I am in California where it doesn't get too hot or too cold. But am getting concern with the gas price.... it's going overboard. Carpooling is what I've been doing to save $$.

Actually--I got it for free last year. And this year-- I got it free again due to trees coming down in the wind storm.

So-- this summer I will be cutting the stumps up for the woodstove next year.
