At least 13 people were injured, according to state officials. Authorities say three people were killed near Damascus and two others died in Conway county when possible tornadoes struck Friday morning. State officials say another fatality occurred in the Hensley area of Pulaski county, south of Little Rock. A single death was reported in Benton county. Authorities in Conway County have confirmed that two people died as a possible tornado hit the Birdtown area. Conway County is also reporting that six people have been transported to a hospital as a result of injuries. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time. Conway County Sheriff Mike Smith says the deaths, a father and son, were reported at a home along M & M Road. Numerous homes were damaged when the storm struck that area Friday morning. The worst damage appears to be off of Highway 9 north of Birdtown. Authorities report 10 to 15 homes were destroyed. A command post has been set up in the Birdtown area. Only emergency responders were being allowed into the damaged areas. Communication is difficult since phone service is limited. Shelters have been set up for storm victims in Conway and Van Buren counties. The Arkansas Dept. of Emergency Management confirms that three people died in the storms near Damascus in Faulkner County. The deaths included a 4-year-old girl and her grandparents. They died when their home took a direct hit from a tornado. Six people in the Damascus area were hospitalized for injuries. The weather service says a trained spotter saw the tornado just after 8:30 a.m. about two miles from Damascus. There is damage to nearly 30 homes, three businesses and a church in Damascus in Faulkner County. The Southside Baptist Church in Damascus was destroyed by the tornado. National Guard members have been assigned to aid local authorities to prevent looting in the storm damaged areas of Van Buren County. Police in Siloam Springs say a 15-year-old girl was killed early Friday when a tree fell through her bedroom where she was sleeping. A 10-year-old boy was in the same room, but escaped with only minor injuries. Siloam Springs schools were closed for the day Friday. Siloam Springs police asked residents to stay off the streets. There were also have damage reports in Center Ridge in Conway County. The Center Ridge community suffered heavy damage in an EF-4 tornado earlier this year. Morrilton police tell Today’s THV that there was scattered damage there from storms Friday morning. In Van Buren County near Bee Branch deputies confirm damage to at least seven houses near Highway 124 and Highway 65. State officials say 28 homes were destroyed in Van Buren county in all. A church suffered severe damage in the storm. Highway 65 was closed south of Bee Branch due to debris and damage. In Cleburne County at Greers Ferry, state officials report over 100 homes were damaged or destroyed by the storm. The Heber Springs Fire Department reported that several roads were blocked by damage. Some residents were trapped in their homes immediately after the storm. Clinton police say there was damage south of them, but not in the city of Clinton. The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management reports damage in Benton, Conway, Cleburne, Franklin, Howard, Newton, Pope and Van Buren counties. The State Emergency Operations Center has activated to a level three. if one doesnt have a basement.. usually one would buy a storm cellar to be protected from the tornado. we need a storm cellar as we live in trailer. Trailer is not a safe place to be when tornado hit as trailer can be destroyed compare to the house its more sturdy, from what i have seen most. if i have my own place i would get a storm cellar.

I saw the storm pass through this morning during first break when I went outside to smoke. Those clouds were hanging low and I didn't like the look of them and I was thinking oh shit this is going to get ugly if we get an upper draft. Thankfully it didnt, at least for my area Whew!
I didnt get a chance to see the news but Im glad my bud FC and her son TJ are both OK.  It has been a day of extremes. This morning they were dropping tornado warnings left and right and by 11:00 it was sunny and clear a perfect spring day. I was like WTH? Anyway I went to pay my taxes on my truck this afternoon after work and the dealer forgot to send me some needed paperwork to show the DMV so I have to get up tomorrow and head to Russ-Vegas and get it from the dealer so that I can pay it on Monday and I will be officially legal. I also checked out some cell phones at Radio Shack today and I am saving up again for a cell phone to cover the cost of the phone and the activation fee and when my mom is on vacation we can go down and pick out the phone and get myself added to her plan. Im looking at the LG phone that has a regular keypad and screen on the front but it flips open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard and screen, perfect for texting and note taking on the go.

What a weird and wacky day that was! Yes wild morning.. then by 11:30 AM came a beautiful and sunny spring day like nothing happened? Weird. Confirmed of 29 "official" tornado touch downs report. Wow what an outbreak that was, ugh! I am tired and ready to zzzz so gonna get off and go to bed.. so I hope all of you have a safe night!

aww laketahoe ur son is so cute with his arm..but poor him.. he will be ok soon! here is a picture that my bro in law Rick took ..he was at his job working at gas rig. here is his message in the email along with the picture. Tornado on the ground behind our pipe yard in damsacus, photo taken with phone while standing on one of our service trucks, Rick.   it is only 12 miles from here to Damascus so its not that far from here. ArkansasMatters.com - UPDATE ON ONGOING TORNADO SURVEYS IN ARKANSAS This said it was EF3 that hit north 3 miles from here.

Wow FC, if I walked out onto my backporch and saw that Id be pissing down both legs!
 Today it was cooler, the thermometer in Dardanelle said 64 degrees while we were eating at Pizza Hut for lunch. I thought about wearing a sweater today but before I left the house I thought nah, it'll warm up. It barely did. I managed but I was wishing I had my warm sweater on, lol. Right now though my DD is laying on the couch beside me. She complained this morning that her throat hurt and she was coughing so I gave her a Children's Tylenol Plus: Cough & Cold medicine this morning then we got around and went to Russ-Vegas to run our errands. Then sitting in pizza hut she complained that her ear hurt and I noticed her face was red, I felt her forehead and she was warmer than usual. So we finished up our meal and we ran across the street to Wal-Mart to pick up some over the counter medicines, specifically ear drops to relieve the pain on her ears until I get her in to the doctor Monday morning. I suspect she has an ear infection, so I will take her in to have her looked at. Lake Tahoe - looks like your son did quite a doozy! I hope he heals soon!

my parents, my hubby and i went to Flea Market, we enjoy and walked around there.. after that we went to china buffet, we chatted and enjoy!! so they went home, my hubby and i went home, wash clothes and spend together.. smiles..

TJ and i went on the tour to look at all the damages on M&M road as its not blocked anymore. OMG... lot of houses are destroyed.. WIPED out.. i was like SHIT. chicken houses and thousands of chickens laying dead..
 After the tour we went to morrilton to eat at Chinese restaurant then went to walmart to get BATTERIES as i forgot yesterday. I have to have them! lol and we got back home not long ago.. I was reading Ark. Democrat & Gazette newspaper and to my surprise- TJ's classmate is in there. his house is destroyed. i showed it to TJ and he said that is so sad. in the article it said he was looking for toys for his baby sister. I felt so bad.
