Which safe for reusing water bottles~!
Today ... I went to Dentist.... Lobby room and read..
Magazine>> "TIME" from March 24 2008 so I took one page out of it Now I am and copy it to here.... Sooo...Thought want share it here!!! Is your water bottle safe???? Single-use PET What it's made of Polyethylene terephthalate or PET, is a lightweight plastic used in many drink bottles Potential problems PET degrades with use, and wrinkled sufaces can host germs- as can backwash Should I reuse this bottle? NO. use it as it's intended: once. Recycle it or reimagine and reuse- as flower vase Polycrabonate What it's made of This is termoplastic polymer is used in many products, including water contrainers... Potential problems Studies show polycarbonates can leach a potentially harmful synthetic hormone... Should I reuse this bottle? The FDA insists polycarbonate containers are safe but some scientist disagree.... HDPE What it's made of High density polyethylene is a softer, opaque plastic made from petroleum Potential problems scientists and health advocates have reported no know problems with HDPE Should I reuse this bottle? Yes. though less snazzy-looking than polycarbonate, HDPE containers are safe.... Stainless Steel What it's made of These bottles are made or durable and light stainless steel inside and out Potential problems Stainless steel doesn't leach or react. But avoid freezing or filling with hot water... Should I reuse this bottle? yes. Stainless steal rates up there with glass as a safe reliable material .. Drink up.... .. ![]() ![]()

Great, to know that my recycled water bottle is a potential health hazard. But, I notice that bottled water now has an expiry date. So, does this mean the expiry date is in relation to the bottle rather than the water? If so, then I don't see how reusing a plastic bottle before the expiry date can be harmful, unless "normal" water corrodes the plastic?
What about glass bottles? I think that drinking from glass bottle taste a lot better than plastic bottle. But, glass and stainless steel bottles are heavy to carry around.

My church is campaigning against the fad of designer bottled water. (To forestall anti-papist hate posts and demands for banning, I won't say which church.)
The campaign includes Phillips's info, plus it warns even dated plastic bottles may prove dangerous if they have been exposed to the sun or another heat source during shipping or storage. Heat causes the plastic to leech toxins into the water. |

If you factor in the possibility of contamination Phillips passed on, it shows bottled water costs considerably more than equal or better tap water around here. |

I have well water. and I also have a RO system.
Drinking Water Filters- Reverse Osmosis Water Purifiers & Water Softeners so basically when you go to the store and get your jugs filled with water it is the same but they just filter City water. My water is directly from a fresh water well.. even then I don't know what is in my water so I use the RO system to flush out what I don't want. The only downside on this some say it wastes water by flushing out the bad components in the water. I just have it for my kitchen sink drinking water. Other use for water is treated through the water softener outside of my home. beats the heck out of bottled water. |

most tap water are safe as they are checked often and make sure they are safe for people to drink.. but lot of medicines are found in water .. people need to stop putting medicines in toilet so we can have safe water to drink.

If you say you don't want to argue, then please don't.
At any rate, we should get back on topic. This thread is about the dangers of using and reusing plastic water bottles, drifting to questioning the value of bottled water versus tap water when factoring in the problems of the plastic containers. In our area, we were warned against freezing drinking water in plastic bottles and reusing plastic milk containers for the purpose, because the toxins Phillips mentioned are also released when water is thawing. Makes me want to avoid plastic containers for any liquid. |

i told my mom about the plastic bottle as she used them to drink water out of. She said she saw that on the news. I was like really? She said nbr 3, 6 and 7 are unsafe. i was like really? the baby bottle that we have here that is for Shaelyn to use contain nbr 3 and we had to throw it away? I found sippy cup and it have nbr 6. its bad so throw it away. the bottle that mom use is nbr 7 so she had to throw it away, too. I looked at my bottle and sure enough it is nbr 7. i was like yikes. Mom said its better to use glass bottle as it is more safe. I told her stainless steel is safe too she said yes but not for hot. I was like ok.
Information on Plastic that show the identification of which kind of plastics are used on 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. interesting. noticed it said... Research in Environmental Health Perspectives finds that BPA (leached from the lining of tin cans, dental sealants and polycarbonate bottles) can increase body weight of lab animals' offspring, as well as impact hormone levels. wtf it made mice gain weights??? oh no... is that one reason we all are getting fat from drinking water bottles? this is not good!!! jeez! ![]() Plastic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Are your plastic bottles safe to use? Jayhan Loves Design & Japan » Are your plastic bottles safe to use? i found information on snopes.com and this said its false? me confused now? oh well. Urban Legends Reference Pages: Reuse of Plastic Bottles found more info now this article said plastic bottles are not safe? oh jeez. Plastic Baby Bottles: Do They Hold a Danger? but the point we dont know anything for sure due to debates over this? it could not be safe nowadays? just use your judgement. i think i will stick with glass bottle from now on.

I use water tap for drinking because I have water filter in household.
I see no comparison between glass and plastic bottle. Their taste is no difference to me. ![]() How about glass or plastic bottles for juices, sodas when it's not just water? |

we have filter too to remove the stuffs and leave behind a pleasant taste. it taste great? before we had the filter, it taste funny. so now its much better.
As for glass bottle or plastic bottle, I think drinking out of glass bottle taste good compare to plastic- it taste funny? also plastic bottle doesnt keep the fluid cold compare to tin or glass it will stay cold for a bit longer? same concept when eating out of plastic bowl and ceramic bowl. I like ceramic bowl or ceramic mug to drink coffee. it have to do with taste? i guess thats my opinion? i dont know.. ha..
