Oh, Bott, that was so unfair! Every British king and queen (including Lizzie II) has been descended from Al the Great, and England had trouble with the Danes up to Victor Borga, ha ha ha. Lucky for Byrdie there was only one "The Unready."

I think it's San Marino, famous for castles on cliffs and steep terraced land . . . infamous for the world's worst soccer teams (probably because they can't find a level place large enough for a regulation field).

You thought right Professor Chase. It's San Marino, one of the two countries inside of Italy!

Your turn.

Sorry I took so long. I was gone. Byrdie is first with the close-enough answer. I was just after Biggers's title character, Charlie Chan.

I know Bottesini's answer was more accurate by English spelling, but in Chinese, Chan and Chang are just regional differences. It was my fault 'cause I should've answered sooner. Sorry.

Your turn, Byrdie.

Rats! Byrdie answered before I could. The Maltese Falcon is one of my all-time favorites.

Bott: I'm so sorry if I made you believe you had offended. You didn't at all. And your spelling was exact and correct. It's just Byrdie's was close enough. My bad all around.

Good to see that you are playing. You are on the right continent but wrong countries.

1. Colonized by Portugese, then the Brits colonized them. The Germans whined that they weren't getting any colonies in Africa, so the British gave them this country. The French ended up getting this country as a payment from the Germans due to WWI.

2. "The Slave Coast"

3. Beware of the saleswomen in the market or you will end up with more than what you wanted.
