What's discount store that you like to shopping at best?
I'm just wonders about what's your favorite to shopping at discount store, also included with hypermarket too, that which is in combined with GM and groceries.
If you are from other country then please vote on "others".

I usually shop at Wal-Mart, it is okay. I wish we had Saver's here in San Antonio. The nearest Saver's is in Austin.

I voted other... None of list except Walmart... I saw Walmart for a first time in Würzburg at 2 years ago. Not bad really. Würzburg is almost 2 hours away from my area... (We drove to Würzburg to visit my son in the head specialist hospitail every 2 days and saw Walmart and remember ADers´ posts). We shopped there before go home... Not bad really... We don´t mind to stop Walmart in Würzburg on our way to outing trip...

What's the difference between Target and Wal-mart or Kmart, etc. They are all the same to me but in different prices. I don't like Target because prices are little to high. We used to have K-mart, Sears brought it over and it's now called, "Sears Essentials".

I can't vote more than one.
I shop at Target (depend on sale), Wal Mart, and few others. It is depend what I needed or wanted. I used to live in Washington State and I went Fred Myers. Not my taste but I get something that I needed. K Mart I don't like K-mart but when I see something in the ADs then I'll run in and grab what its on sale then zoom out! I don't like their smell and too bright in there. Also messy too!!!

I voted for one (Kmart/Sears) but I also shop at Target, CHRISTMAS TREE SHOP (there, I shouted for you!! Ha.), Big Lots, and dollar stores (very limited things) but I do not like to shop at Walmart. My wife love that store. GRRR! Ha ha. Other stores that are not discount--just regular prices stores I like to shop are JCPenneys (once a Christmas season sales associates one season long time ago), Best Buy, CompUSA, Super JoAnn Fabrics, and more.
I remembered other stores I love to shop but they are gone!!!! WAAA! Kaufmann's (Federated Department Stores bought out May Department Stores and converted most chains into Macy's.) Two Guys, Modell, Edwards' Department Stores, Dey Brothers (or known as Dey's) (sold to Sibilys which later sold to Kaufmann's then Macy's), Stienbach's, AMES, Hess, Hills, and more! Check deadmalls DOT com since they have a list of your old favorite department stores that are gone!!!! THANKS to the jerk Walmart!!!! Now you know why I do not shop there!!!! If you are love to Kmart then you can check out about Super Kmart in Ohio (Cleveland), that's more nicer than regular one, that which is combined with GM and groceries.

I'd have preferred to take a shopping trip at Target's but unfortunately it is in another town. However, Wal-Mart is the only store here that is accessible for me to get what I need. So there's no complaints here for me to have.

With an exception, Walmart has Guayabera Shirts, Cubana shirts, etc that Kmart does not have. JCP has those shirts sometimes. I love those shirts! You can even see my wedding shirt! Its a white Guayabera shirt! I am very stylish creative person. Anyway, thanks Pacman for the photo! We do not have Super K that size at all. Syracuse is not a good market city anymore. That is why. |

How could I forget Woolworth!
Thanks for reminding me about Woolworths! They started in a town near my hometown. I think it began in Watertown, NY. I loved Woolworth. That was another big chain around my hometown. Oh well! I counted like 18 department stores my hometown used to have! Some closed up, some bankrupt, some merged. Now, we only have Walmart, Kmart, Sears, JCP, Lord & Taylor's, Best Buy, Macy's, and that is just about all. We also have Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesales, and of course, Target and Kohl's. Thats all! Oh well!

I also like Price Chopper but it is very bright there. Too white! But usually in bad areas.. I also like P&C Fresh Market. They are now trying to look like Wegmans but they need to have a lot of work to compete against Wegmans! Danny Wegmans really care about people who are Deaf. Wegmans is headquartered in Rochester. They even have TTYs in their grocery stores in Rochester. I hope they still do though. They do have Deaf people working in Wegmans. Great benefits, hours, pay...and food! Ha. |
