Advertisement on AD

I'm thinking of displaying banner advertisement (468x60) on the top-right to help cover the server cost to run AllDeaf.com I also need your opinion on this, and if you disagree with idea of advertising on AD, then please state why.

Its okay but pop-ups they're pretty annoying

IMO banner ads that stay in one place much better and reduce chance of too much pop-ups waste time to x since some ppl may not have pop-up killer proggies

I definitely agree to the idea of having banner ads in your forum, to help defray some cost for having this forum online. My only problem is that I dont want cookies to be put on my computer, but that is my own problem to deal with.

Sure, I don't see anything wrong with advertising your own business. In my opinion, you have a right to advertise your own business in your own sites. You've got thousands people visiting here, you'll have a better chance of getting people interest in your business advertisement. I'm sure it won't bother us as long as it's not a pop-up.

I am cool with it but it would be so helpful if it was Deaf advertisement. sometimes it is so hard to find Deaf products or learning materials (books, etc). I have to do a heavy search..... click click clik.... but it would be nice if it was Deaf related adverisement but either way I am cool with it!!!

not to be stupid or anything, but how does a banner help you? Me, personally, i think i'd actually pay money to do this - not saying you should charge people. But if you look at the popularity of things.. Think of it like an online journal, they offer an additional "bonus" for a charge. And with that you get so many other extras - you think you could benefit from something of the sort? *shrugs* maybe I'm off point but yeah.

I suggest you do linking ads to the our original siggies - as long as you have control over the byte usage - pages should be able to load smoothly for those on dial-ups.

I'm happy to use this space - even tho its free to me - but again it comes as a cost to you Alex. So I think its a fair deal to link the ads to our siggies which could be a rotating sequence of a variety of ads....

We don't need pop ups as I have a popup buster... so it will be useless to you and the advertiser....

If you have a lookee around the site - there's a few nooks and cannies that you slot an ad into.

I suggest you start trailing a few ideas with the moderators... before unhording it onto us users...
