No more high school for me :)

It's too longer to give the diploma folders including certificate for students that haven't pass CAHSEE because of around 600 students. Both of them are fancy folders, then graduation is all done and throw our caps up in air, and chat with someone on school field and basketball area. No more high school, enough for 4 years and stress is getting low and better. :)

Not decide because I haven't pass CAHSEE yet... that's stupid state exam and english is weird, it seems treat unfair to deaf students and english learners but only few deaf students are already passed this state exam. I'm gonna to somewhere for help us to pass the english soon as probably in fall.

Yea or I would think about go to adult school in somewhere in LA or in SF area.

I took the placement testing at a community colllege and I thought that my English was good enough, but I am placed into pre-college English class. I did good in high school English, but I did not reach the college level. I was :hyper: [panicked] when they told me that my English was not good enough, and I asked one of deaf professionals about it and she said that I am not alone and she went through the same thing when she was at NTID.

Congrats on your graduation! You didn't get diploma since you said "Adult School" which means you got cerficate instead of diploma, I think.

actually, I only had English and science finals and my last day was on the 14th so the hs graduation is on Wednesday.

You are very lucky because you graduated in 1996 because California don't offers state exam until 1999 then cerficate is present for students that who unable to pass CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) because most deaf students and English Learners (Immigrants from other countries and speaking other languages at home) also some hearing people are unable to pass it too. I'm done with high shcool but LA school district offers adult school for helps people that who unable to pass CAHSEE or other thing that need alot help. Adult school is different from high school because flexiable time, unlimited, no hassle and no dress code, also I can get in for short time until pass it then apply new job soon as possible, not later than end of 2006.

I never had a problem with English. Just wait until you have to do term papers and you will get docked for not spelling and grammar. This is life, sweetie, you gotta learn how to write professionally and coherently, not like a baby. Welcome to the world post-high school! :welcome:
