Off to the hospital we go!
My youngest was playing so quietly in the room.
I was watching a movie video with my middlest, and then my youngest comes out crying. Says her leg hurts, I think she may have fallen off the bunk in the room. Now she has been in extreme pain for last hour and a half. She was barely walking, and now I asked her to walk she signs NO. NO Walk. So, we will see what the Drs. say. Keep us in prayer, and I will keep you updated. Rain |

Well no broken bones.
She is still in alot of pain. She isn't walking on that leg at all. So we are going to see how she is in a few days...72 hours and if she is not any better we are going in to a clinic with an X ray lab so that they can reXray her again. Sighs..been a long morning for us. For now she is just sitting put laying on the couch. Thanks for you thoughts and prayers, I will be keep in touch and letting you know what happens. Rain |

UPDATE:
No change. she is still in extreme pain. Taking her in today. Father inlaw is a nurse and he said he thinks something is broken and they didn't catch it. Also he remarked that DRs aren't trained to read X rays. So off we go, hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. Rain |

Prayers sent. I hope she'll be okay soon. Your father-in-law is right, some docs overread the x-rays, they can be stupid if they think there is nothing broken.
Extreme pain means either a fracture or a partial broken bones. It can also indicate dislocated joint of either knee or a hip. Sprained muscles do not cause extreme pain but moderate pain. I hope she'll be okay soon and the tears will remove from her eyes and replaced with a smile on her face. When you're done with the doctors for your little girl, explain to her not to do it again, tell her that jumping or roughing around on the bunk bed is not a jungle (some kids laugh at the humor like jungle or water splash), it's a place to read or sleep. I have a bunkbed and I cringe at some times..now they're 12 and 10, they haven't try anymore. My son used to jump from the top to my bed. Oooh. Freaked me out and he laughed. <sigh> Wheew.

UPDATE:
I want to cry seriousily! We brought her to the fracture clinic and the specialist couldn't find the break meanwhile we took her to the clinic and the Dr. there said that she had broken her leg (right through two bones). I never saw the Xray, my hubby did but then he couldn't tell them where it was when we went there. I am holding for a few more days if she is not better by the end of the week we are taking her in again. God some Drs are such assholes! I totally think it's broken, she isn't using her leg at all. She is in pain little manageable today since she knows how to sit and lay down. But tonight I tried to bathe her, and she screamed the entire time while she sat in the tub with her legs straight. Again I think my father inlaw is totally right. I just wish that hubby would have put more of a fight out to have her re Xrayed there. Oh well, like I said Friday if she isn't walking or even attempting to walk we are bringing her in. The break the other Dr. said was so thin ~ it was like if you sharpened a pencial and drew a line that is how small it is. He could understand why the ER had missed in the first place. He saw that it was broken right through both bones. Then the Dr was like talking to him I think? (Hubby says he was talking to the Dr at the clinic and basically covering his ass incase it was and if he dismissed it). Which I think is stupid because he wouldn't have shown hubby where the break was to begin with if he wasn't even being honest! Anyhow, I will keep you updated... Very tired and frustrated with Drs right now! Rain |

Exactly what I said. Full of shit up to the roof!
He even had to ASK hubby where the break was... DUH?! If he is such a fucking good specialist he SHOULD HAVE KNOWN! Sorry really pissed off..if I find out that he totally missed it I am going to be calling the hospital back and going to the board to complain about this man! |

Hi Raingurl.. I just read this thread. I'm soo sorry that your daughter is suffering the pain! have you tried going to the bone dr? if you did, have a 2nd opinion and make them do the xrays again. you are entitled to do anything just to make your daughter better and to find the answer.
My daughter was about 2 years old and started complaining her right knee hurts. I took her to the doctor and they found nothing wrong.. so i asked for a 2nd opinion, they found it was growing pains. but if your daughter can't walk or move on that leg, then something is not right. they need to do the xrays on the whole leg.. I really hope you can find the answers. I feel for ya! ![]() |

That is why I do not like or trust doctors. They are in it for the money, they say Oh we don't see it then you are in pain 5 days later they say come see us, then you go in and they say we may have found something but we are not sure yet meanwhile the bills rack up then they say we just got some test results we need to talk to you then schedule another appointment and you feel all good then next time you go there then they say hey wait a mintune we need more testing.... you have gotta go huh ?
Then by that time you get the hospital bill in your mailbox it just makes me If he keeps this bullshit up. Take your kid to a doctor who is a woman herself and she will understand the problem perfectly and give your kid the right medical treatment and order up what is really needed to get to the bottom of the problem and save you money, time stress and no more heartache from seeing your kid in pain. That is what I would have told my wife to do if I was married. Women doctors usually are not in it for the money like the guys who are doctors. |
