Greetings, I am new to this forum. I have a particular topic to ask about. Tomorrow, I am going to be instructing someone who is deaf about some database procedures at a genealogy library. A person using ASL will be interpreting for us. I have a lot of experience as an instructor and been told I am a good communicator. I wish to ask folks here what would be considered good communication/respect techniques in this case. Off the top of my head, I would think even though she cannot hear me to look her in the eye when I speak to acknowledge her. Sort of a new experience for me. Any other thoughts? Thank you! Nice forum, I will have to look it over more. I am not deaf myself but have some substantial hearing loss.

Oh you were doing so well until your comment about a "real normal person".
