Rough walking conditions after getting dumped with a bunch of snow

The snowstorm is leaving Chicago now, and it's dumped a good 5 or more inches, and that makes walking on unshovled sidewalks a challenge, and it certainly was that, but I am back home now, and nice and warm.

Update: the National Weather Service says that there's a good chance that isolated areas could get up to 10 inches of snow. We've already gotten quite a bit here in Rogers Park, so it's possible we'll be one of those isolated areas, cause my neighborhood IS near Lake Michigan, after all-- it's just 1.5 miles away.

Can I make a suggestion? We have threads like "what are thinking about" how are you feeling" what did you learn today".You already made a thread about walking on icy sidewalks. It's not always necessary to make a thread for every thought you have. Maybe you should ask yourself, should I make I thread for this? Or is this something that could go in another thread? You already made a thread about walking on icy sidewalks, could you have put this post in there?

Again just a suggestion

Yes, I probably should, and sometimes I do, cause I see something I wanna post, but think better of it.

Am I having deja vu ??? Wasn't this already a thread earlier with the same thing just worded differently???? :hmm:

That was about black ice. This is about snow making walking difficult if not yet shoveled.

Hey, I`m always talking about turbocharged vehicles so what is wrong with talking about beautiful Chicago weather?

They think I'm talking about the same topic, which I'm not. The earlier thread was about dangerous black ice, and the fact that I nearly tore my knee. This one is talking about challenges walking in snow after a snowstorm dumped several inches, and the sidewalk not yet having been shoveled. The black ice thread was more about how slick and dangerous it was. This wasn't quite that dangerous, but still-- it's a challenge.

Many people here have moved away from Chicago. They don't want to be reminded of how much snow is here right now.

Probably not, but I still want to tell people about the challenges of walking through multiple inches of snow, and as we speak, it's still snowing right now, and isn't supposed to stop until tonight.

Thank you for the weather report. Great day for me to ride stationary bike!!

Perhaps when you start to write a new thread, ask yourself "what will the forum gain by me writing this ?"

Not that every thread is to be schooled, many are strictly for entertainment, which is why we are all here. But truly, couldn't the redundancy in threads be solved by keeping the common themes on one thread ? I think that is what everyone is alluding too.

Just an opinion.

Yes, I probably should do that, and that's something else to add to my list of things to learn to do this year.

Wasn't trying to get ya down, was just a thought. Trust me, I got ALLOT of things I really need to work on this year.

You didn't. I always welcome feedback on what I can do better.

Good attitude. That is one of my goals, to work on my interaction with others and attitude towards life.

I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully you will have leaps and bounds this year!!

Thanks man, appreciate it. Hey, just a thought, but with you walking in sketchy conditions all the time, check these out. They are Caulks. I get mine from Whites Boots. I have been on sheer ice covered in rain, on a hill and they are rock solid. Not cheap, but a torn ligament is allot more $$$$$$$$$$

Hmm. Now that's something I could actually use.
