PS3 to go 3D by 2011

Sony has a strategy for upping the quality of its content and providing an incentive for gamers to upgrade their home entertainment systems next year, and it involves the PS3 going 3D.
A presentation to investors yesterday underlined that the PlayStation 3 will be a fully 3D-capable game console by the end of 2010, and that a firmware update would share this upgrade across all existing PS3s. A few demos of PS3 3D gaming have been shown previously, but the news of an across-the-board firmware update is new. Of course, a gamer would still need a 3D-capable Bravia HDTV and glasses, the latter of which haven't been announced yet.
We're curious how the quality will be--Nvidia's 3D game technology, now being embedded into laptops, looks great, but requires a 120Hz monitor for fluid motion. But it's a smart idea, if manufacturers want anyone to adopt 3D tech, to include it as a Trojan horse inside laptops and game consoles. And we hope it works on HDTVs other than specific Bravias. It doesn't sound like the PS3 will double as a 3D Blu-ray player, but we certainly hope that's the case.
Does 3D gaming appeal to you? How about 3D movie-watching? We're certain to hear a lot more 3D news at CES. (Via Kotaku)

I never expected something like this to happen to me...now it did. I am a proud PS3 owner and something just happened after I just got the latest patch to MW2.

I turned on my PS3, play MW2, and then a notice came up saying the latest patch is up for download so I thought it was odd for another patch cause we just got the other patch only a week ago and now this? so I went ahead to download it and after that, went to the MW2 menu and select multiplayer and as I did that...the screen went black and I have to reboot it so when I did and went to the XMB, something was missing...the disc icon don't show so I took the disc out and try it again and it still dont show. I reboot it and try again and it still dont show. I tried the other PS3 game, the PS2 game, the DVD movie, the Blu-ray movie...and none of it worked. I tried the restore default settings as well and it still dont show...sigh so I guess it appears that I have a failed blu-ray drive and have to contact sony abt this soon. VERY bad timing before the holidays season...and I can't afford to pay $150 for this soon. I guess I would have to go afew months without playing MW2 and other PS3 games...I assumed the patch had something to do with it, but Sony or Infinity ward won't admit it...so fuck them.

Driverless UVC Webcam- Logitech Vison Pro

I will be getting a new webcam, Logitech Vision Pro for MAC. It's a driverless webcam that I can use all platforms such as Apple, Linux, and Doz. No need driver software to be installed.

I checked several reviews on Logitech Vision Pro and it rated the best for all Video chat software on MAC and also Linux. Doz just work fine too even Doz 7 (On Doz, you can download and install software for Vision Pro to run "Avatars", "face Accessories" and "Fun Filter").

I just want to use Skype, Ekigna, and other Video chat software on Ubuntu 9.10 as well as experimenting running ZPC100, Z4 and P3 VP software on Wines ( :giggle: find out which would works on Nix' ).

My Logitech Fusion (look like Vision Pro except microphone on side) doesn't work with Linux except for older version (It partly works on Ubuntu 8.04). I've tried it on Kopete and it won't show video but vertical tilt scrolling in video window. So that's why I don't want to deal with Fusion's problem. Ubuntu 9.10 already have V4L2 driver pre-installed and it recognize Logitech Fusion plugged in USB but won't run it (type on terminal "lsusb" and it'll list what's plugged in.) I'm giving it to my kid to use as a video toys.

It may be expensive (cost around $130) but I won it it for $78 in Ebay. It's brand new. Worth the money tho.

Bottom line is that I WANTED IT SHUT UP AND RUN!!! :giggle:

If you are Ubuntu or Linux users, here's the website you may be interested in:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SkypeWebCams

also

Linux UVC driver & tools (http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/)

This will help you to know if your Webcam is compatible with Linux or not or if you're trying to figure which right Webcam you want to purchase for it too.

I would recommend Driverless webcams. don't buy cheap, just get Logitech Vision Pro cuz it'll works with Skype and many more. Here's another website:

Driver-Free Webcams for Mac Windows 7 Vista Linux (http://www.uvccompatiblewebcams.com/)

I hope I helped :fingersx:

Could you guys recommend me anything to start with? I want to have a rig that can combine with a server as well.

Left 4 Dead 2

Are you getting this game on November 17?

What kind of version that you would get?

I'm very exciting about Left 4 Dead 2 is coming and can't wait to play, it will be 5 campaigns and it will locate in southeast US, that where I live in and The Parish campaign is very nice and locate in New Orleans since other 4 campaigns are in anywhere in south.

Tonight I was going to watch a DVD, in the past - my PS3 console plays DVDs fine unless, now, it wont play, nothing displays on my screen, nothing works when I put in my DVD and select the DVD to play from the PS3 menu. Do anyone who owns PS3 have similar problem with this or have a quick solution to fix this?
