Plays and other entertainment events

I want to suprise my deaf girlfriend by taking her out to some plays or other events that are generally geared towards hearing (heavy focus on music/speech/etc). As a hearing person, i dont know if there are any laws or something that make it required for them to provide an interpreter, or if there are ways to get one for free for such events.

Can someone please let me know on how exactly to go about doing this?

Thanks
SLATE
