Sprint Relay announces the exciting new HTC EVO 4G phone. America’s FIRST 4G phone at $199.99 (after $100 rebate). Data Only pricing for our deaf / hard-of-hearing customers is $39.99/mo only through the Sprint Relay Store. This monthly rate includes the Sprint Relay Data-Only plan plus the Premium data service specifically for the HTC EVO. This phone is now available on June 4, 2010 . Pre-register at HTC Evo - Sprint Relay Store

My brother just got his today and is now playing with it. I will look at his and see if it is worth for me to buy.

I'm interested in picking this up but I'm not too crazy about paying extra $10 per month for premium data plan as I live in middle of nowhere. I probably will not see any 4G coverage for long time.

But I can look past that additional charge if the other features are worth the monthly plan.

If you are ordering a PDA/Smartphone with Sprint Relay Data Only plan, please be aware that this plan has voice service plan restriction. This data only plan is not permitted to have voice service plan added. The Sprint Relay Data Only plan comes with $0.20/min for local voice calls and $0.40/min for long distance voice calls. However, if you wish to have voice plan, you must change the entire service plan completely by start building voice service plan first then add data service on top of voice service plan. Please contact your account executive for more detail.

Incoming calls will be blocked. The incoming call block may be removed by contacting our video customer service (VCS@sprintrelaystore.com), with the exception of the Palm Pre, HTC Hero, HTC EVO 4G, Moment and Pixi. If the incoming call block is removed, you will be billed at $0.20/min for local voice calls or $0.40/min for long distance voice calls. NOTE: 9-1-1 will not be blocked

* Requires a 2 Year Service Agreement
† PAM not available on the HTC Hero, HTC EVO 4G, Samsung Moment, Palm Pre and Palm Pixi.

Yes, Foxrac, if anyone want to add Mobile Hotspot (PAM), will need to pay add $30 more per month.

Oh really, wow, tethering is included in BB and devices with WM6.

HTC EVO 4G OS is Android 2.1 now. Updated Andriod 2.2 for USB tethering and Flash 10.1 will be coming soon.

What’s new in Google Android 2.2 Froyo?

I had stopped at Sprint Store today to see new HTC EVO 4G. bigger display than my iPhone. Front-facing cam s video is very clear. Wow. But battery life is short for streaming video about 3 hours. I will wait to get more info on next-gen iPhone vs HTC EVO 4G comparison next few weeks.

Sprint EVO 4G

Hello folks,

Today I went to local Sprint store and took a look on new Sprint's EVO 4G smartphone. Its task bar showed that Gaithersburg already has 4G coverage (Washington DC metro area)! I tried to access some web sites and noticed that Internet access is much faster than my iPhone. I compared it with my iPhone and its display is much bigger and easier to view. I am very satisfied with that and go ahead to order that upgrade to replace my old BB 8703e at Sprint Relay Store website this month or next.

I have a question for you. I received email from Sprint Relay Store about optional hotspot mobile for extra $29.99 a month. Can I add that tethering option later during 2 yr contract?

I already downloaded and installed Android development kit includes NDK and am learning how to write programs for that smartphone. I has good knowledge of Java programming because I had many training courses at my work and is now Java programmer. Now I am learning how to write C# programs.

Thanks,
Sword7

But no PAM for EVO 4G. Request Android 2.2 Froyo Update / Upgrade for USB tethering and portable WiFi hotspots

WiFi hotspots will be not free.

These monthly charges are stupid and artificial.

The hardware itself is capable of providing a WiFi hotspot -- it's crazy for the carrier to charge for this ability.

No need WiFi hotspot capable for iPhone. Any free WiFi hotpots anywhere to use it.

No, WiFi hotspots are refer as WiFi tethering like MiFi, it is called hotspot mobile.

Does this have a data plan for deaf consumers?
