Replaced DSL Modem Got new 2Wire DSL Wireless Router/Modem ...

I am on AT&T DSL and had Speed Stream 5100 DSL modem for over 5 year or so. It been acting strange lately so I went ahead and got a new DSL modem.

I went got AT&T 2Wire DSL Wireless Router/Modem from BestBuy and set up port forwarding for VP200 and it work great so far. I am able to use VP200 and VPAD and P3 Netbook all on same 2Wire modem.

Also I did test self call VP200 to my P3 Netbook and other way around it works fine.

So I suggest if you use AT&T DSL or plan on get AT&T DSL then to check out 2Wire DSL Wireless Router/Modem but you need to set up Firewall port forwarding for VP200 in 2Wire but so far I like 2Wire and seem to be good flexible work with all different VP devices.

avoid 2wires router at any cost as for i know lots of deafies including me have lots of trouble with it because of incompatiablity and limited setup some has mvp not work incoming nor it is not made for multi vp's so 2wires sucked big time if your works fine then good luck on it it only works when single vp
belive me i been there and so does techicans from purple and sorenson knows the 2wires router problem
i belive dlink is the best router i ever seen in reliablity and lots of freedom to setup configs

It a 2Wire DSL Modem with router built in - 2Wire - Wireless-G 802.11g ADSL Gateway - 2701HG-B

I only set up firewall setting in 2Wire just for VP200 and VPAD and P3 worked on it too.

All 3 VP devices works fine on 2Wire and I can use VP200 and P3 at the same time call out or in.

It seem that either it was a different 2Wire model brand or it was not propertly configured for others if they had problem with it because it works fine for me.

I do have Dlink Router DIR655 and Dlink Switch DDS2208 and am old Linksys router WRT54G connect to the 2Wire DSL Modem/Router. I have 3 wireless access point in the house. We have 6 computers and 3 VP in the house.

Set up 2wire is very easy, been done that hundred, maybe thousands of times and I know this modem very well. It is great modem and yes it will work with Sorenson VP100 or VP200.

I do not believe that from a reliable and knowledgeable technical support representative would advise avoiding 2wire modem.

Did you configure port forwarding settings for MVP, VPAD or/and VP200?

I only confirgured port forwarding just for VP200 on 2Wire.

P3 Netbook and VPAD did not need port forwarding and works fine so far.

I don't have MVP but I will get the MVP in soon.

You are right. you don't need port forwarding for VPAD. If you get MVP, must configure port forwarding for it. Good job! Why not you get job for Purple?
