He didnt have an older model of iPhone. That is his first one, he used to have AT&T tilt PDA phone.

I got to tether my iPhone to my PC and it works just fine. It's just so easy. Just one problem - it's not supported by AT&T so I hope AT&T will never find out and charge me more!

yeah. They s not ready to be tethering system for new iPhone 3G S till end of summer. I won't pay for adding tethering fee???

That's why I won't advise tethering.

I tethered when my primary wireless service went down and tethered my iPhone to surf the internet. I checked the data usage and it wasn't even that bad so ATT may not notice it.
