Tough or gentle on your cell, BB or SK?

Wondering if everyone is either gentle with their phones or subjected theirs to abuse?

Since Sept 2007 I've put my LG EnV to too much abuse like dropping it accident, stepped on the phone when it was on a parking lot, had the numbers wear off the keypad while it was in my pockets and my daughter having fun with it from time to time.

Yet after a year, it still runs like a champ! No protectors, no bumpers or holsters. Im damn impressed with what LG really built into the EnV.

My next cell or BB (hopefully its gonna be the new BB Storm) Im hoping it can take much abuse and still tick.

Take a look at the pics of the poor EnV after a year

Tmo SK would'nt stand for abuse. I've dropped SK2 several times and it's internal radio hardware gotten damaged that I couldn't send or receive on air. IT's my 2nd or 3rd sk2. It's keyboard was a champ cuz it last long than SK1 !! .

Now I have BB Curve and I accidently pulled out my belt holster out of pocket(my new belt holster just had a broken clip cuz of cheap quailty swivel riviet) and my BB Curve slipped out of it's holster and flew 6 ft foward in air to driveway pavement and suffered a scrape on it's head and right "knee". It's back cover flew out too but not broken. I snapped back the cover and groaned at brand new "damaged" BB Curve which was only a month old!!! It still runs like champ anyway. Luckily, the screen window are still intact that what counts. If screen got scratched ect. I would trade in for new one. I don't like scratched screen!! Sorry for my pickiness. I just want to have a clear unobstructed view of screen!!

There is a Youtube video about "blackberry Tossup" maybe look for Tmo SK tossup. There's the one with guy with hammer (not me!!) smashing the SK2 . Maybe that would help you to decide which one is toughie.

My old SK3 had some cracks and broken front plastic of LCD and my old BB 8820 was died in last couple month ago due accident, I just pulled out of pocket then flied and hit on floor, it had been accident so several time before died.

My BB 8330 is fine, no accident, I just use leather case (no clip) then put in my pocket to prevent any dirts that passes into BB's LCD, I had apart the BB and use air duster to blow all dirts off.

If you are abuser or pose to accident so often then make sure to purchase insurance with you.

Sk is suck! I had Sk1 always fall down many times. It hit on LCD cause broke the light. I have no problem with BB so far. I like my BB's leather case with magnet like yours. I don't need get another case for BB. I don't like the clip because it would fall out itself. I put my bb on my pocket. It's perfect size of my pocket than old Palm Treo and SK1.

Blackberry - you're next. My Nokia 6680 was smashed to pieces about a year or two ago, so I had to upgrade the new phone to something schitt. LOL

My husband had Nokia 6680. It's SHIT! Because he doesn't have case. He put his old cellphone in his pocket at work. The metal hit the screen broke on hole. He never replacement a new cellphone. It was shame of him. He like his new BB same mine so far. I did fall my bb down on the road. it's not hurt and scratch. Because I am using my leather case onto protect.

Several years ago I accidently dropped my old Blackberry 950 model from tenth floor apartment balcony and it SURVIVED! I thought it would be broken when I went down to pick it up.

Several years later, I started using a Blackberry 7290 and it survived many falls. Last spring, it partially worked after it suffered a nasty fall by accident. I had it replaced it with a newer Blackberry 8700r.

Not too long ago, I accidently tripped over the parking stopper (or whatever it is called) at WalGreen's... My Sidekick 3 was in my pant pocket and it didn't damage or anything when I landed on it.

I have dropped my Cingular/AT&T 8525 and Sidekick 3/LX plenty of times on the carpets whenever I snoozed off or watching some TV's.

Ouchie! Betcha 950 model must had been a well built one! Maybe a military design board inside of it so it can survive in a battle

Sheesh! 10th floor free fall!!

Anyone have BB Curve be a willing Victim to drop 10th floor from balcony and Let us know how it survives Make sure it's insured and cover it up that you accidently dropped it and car ran it over by accident so they can replace it with new one free. J/K

my SK3's been dropped several times and it still works perfectly. Been dropped on hard tiled floors, cement, all that jazz. Just a few scratches on the screen from being in my pocket with other random objects (coins, pens, etc.).

Maybe put thickest "condom" for your new BB curve (or buy 4 or 6 "condoms" for one BB for best of the best protection!). or upgrade to Military grade BB Curve that can withstand extreme abuse. Just like Dell sell Military grade rugged laptop that can survive several stories drop to ground.
