Galaxy, My understandable that you are frustrate with IM program software caused your handheld error or its not work on your BB at all. However, almost all software require the (BB) os 4.0 and up, it will work and running also.

If you have questions, just post this and i will answer yours.

You are correct, Galaxy, get the updated OS version it should work... also have you been taking out your battery sometimes you need to do that to reset it. I didn't have any problems with IMs when I had 7280 as I know AIM (ramble) was a junk that kept getting disconnected. Why not call the service provider about the error 403, they'll tell ya.. If you are using Rogers, you could check their website that has FAQ of all the issues. Let me know maybe I can help ya.. wink..

go to [url=http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wireless-products/bb_overview/url]

then you'll see....left side either click on the software upgrades or blackberry/Yahoo msgr

'M LOOKING FOR...

* Blackberry
*
* BlackBerry Internet Service
*
* BlackBerry & Yahoo Messenger
*
* Software Upgrades
*
* BlackBerry Enterprise Server

then select your blackberry 7280 or 7290 OS version, you can check on your bb to see which version you are using right now... usually each year or every six months they update it. You need to hook up the blackberry to you PC but firstly save the backup from you bb first then do the upgrade version then restore all the data back to you BB ... I'm sure if you call them they'll give you step by step. This is probably what you click on the following version..
(New) v4.0.0.219 for BlackBerry 7280

GalaxyAngel, I just suggest you to get 8700, it is still ROCK AND THE BEST ECONOMY EVER! so anyway retail store selling the 8700 for under $150 or get one free!, you can find somewhere on internet if you were LUCK.

Good Luck!

the TCP and APN settings

From BlackBerryFAQ

What are the TCP and APN settings?

Setup the APN by going to Options >> Advanced Options >> TCP and enter the following information based on your carrier.

Rogers

APN: internet.com

Username: (blank)

Password: (blank)

Note: If this does not work, call Rogers and get the "internet.com Access Point Name" added to your account. If they say it already exists, tell them to load up the records anyway, just to doublecheck.

T-Mobile

APN: wap.voicestream.com

Username: (blank)

Password: (blank)

Note: T-Mobile has fixed the port-blocking issue - see this post for more info. In rare cases, it is reported you may need to enter your T-Mobile username and password, the same information used for logging into Unsupported Browser ... If it still does not work properly, just call T-Mobile (call after Feburary 11th, 2005), and ask them to get the "wap.voicestream.com Internet Access Point Name" added to your BlackBerry account at no extra charge.'

Cingular Orange

APN: WAP.CINGULAR

Username: WAP@CINGULAR.COM --or-- WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (<---try one then the other)

Password: CINGULAR1

Formerly, it used to be difficult to get this to work on Cingular but in December 2005, a new Internet Browser Icon suddenly appeared on Cingular BlackBerry units. When this happened, it also suddenly became easier to use Cingular BlackBerry with TCP/IP. If you are still having problems, please click here.

Cingular Blue

APN: proxy

Username: (blank)

Password: (blank)

Try using these settings if you are on the former AT&T network, instead of the Cingular settings.

A special thanks to Mark Rejhon

Google Calendar Now Syncs to Your BlackBerry!

Sync Your BlackBerry Calendar with Google Calendar

I just wanted to expreiment Google sync on my BB. Well done Google sync integrating so well with the Blackberry! You should give a try too!

Fire up your BlackBerry browse and head on over to Google Sync and install the Google Sync for mobile application. Once installed, simply click on the Google Sync icon, login to your Google Account and you're done. Your BlackBerry Calendar app will now always be synchronized with your Google Calendar. And in case you're wondering, it does work both ways - events created/edited on your handheld will sync back to your Google Calendar. THANKS GOOGLE!

Good Luck,

Last night, the icon for Napster Mobile showed up on my BB screen. I've never downloaded or accessed Napster, so I was surprised to see it there. It is above the "message" icons. How did it get there?

Yes, I've used it since I got my Curve last month and I love it. I really like all-in-one chat programs (like Adium for the Mac or Trillian for the PC) so I picked it up immediately. It's got a few bugs but for the most part works great. I use it with my AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN chat. The interface is simple and it's very easy on the eyes. You can customize the way the chats look and it's very easy to switch from chat to chat.

I get an error message or two every now and then but I just click "OK" and it goes away. I've had one or two connection errors. Otherwise I highly recommend it.

Reba, I have no idea how it got there on your bb. Ha! Did you have download another apps? or did you recent update os on your BB? I did check your carrier site: SunCom | Features & Services | Napster Mobile , and realized that suncom running Napter Mobile as preintalled on their cellphone and PDA (who knows).. you better ask the retailer in suncom store about it.

Hard to explain! I admire JiveTalk, like chat history, customize/ change the interface chat feature, neat & simple interface like vista bar, see their buddy info which is via sidekick or BB. IM Chat to IM chat is pretty reponsnse so quickly like sidekick IM chats does, no lags. JiveTalk is MORE feature Trillan as Mulit-IM clients and affordable price.

what like a some bugs in Jivetalk? Oh you got connection errors? For me, I honestly havent any errors from jivetalk..but of course its disconnection by itself where area is not available network/ no coverage or in buliding (hosptial, others) block it/ too much devices like highly monitors, etc, these make it out of range. . thats my very minor problem.

Yes, I'll contact Suncom. I never downloaded anything, so I was shocked to see that show up. I am curious if anyone else had that happen?

Reba, you are welcome!

You can leave it or delete Napster off from bb.

Here trick & tip: go Homescreen» Opitions» Advanced options» Applications» as you see application lists, you scroll down what you looking for napster,» Menu» Delete» "Cancel or Delete",» click Delete. That's it! There will be magic disappear napster from bb. Trust my words of tips.

I hope that solve your problems.

If, you want to get free BB 8310 (refurb) from AT&T's online. My suggest, you call customer service that you want data plan and text message without voice plan. You will find out how much cost to payment every month for two years.

Let you think how much you can afford to payment for 2 years.

Remember that AT&T's TAP will not offer special price on Blackberry.
