Does anybody have it also has 29.99 data plan unlimited some say no AIM some say it has built in (IM TXT)?

I have the 8700g from T-Mobile. It is $29.99 a month unlimited data. It does have Oz which includes AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. However, I have downloaded the free Ramble IM and it works great.

Yes, I have one. Tried OZ today and it works. You will only get up to 300 sends and recieves, then get charged for any above that.

I have used Ramble for a long time. It is free and never get charged. I have had trouble with it recently so I'm giving Yak-On a try. No charges except a 1 time 19.95 fee.

It kept freezing the entire Blackberry (only recently) and it won't stay logged in despite making the changes as reccomended by the co. on heir Blackberryforums post

Does anybody know when the 8700g came out?

I have my sidekick 1. I have to wait after one year. I don't know what I gonna afte one year? I find out. :)

Thanks, Dennis. I'm thinking about getting the 8700g by T-Mobile. Still doing a little research before I make a decision.

What factors are you considering for your phone? There've been quite a few threads here on AD related to what factors ought to be important when considering a phone. Would you mind listing yours here for the benefit of the AD denziens?

I'm basically looking for a business oriented email/web/pda, all in one, device. Don't need a built-in music player or camera.

Think the 8700g is what I'm looking for?

Alex,

I am really happy with my 8700g (TMO). I have adjusted so well without being hooked on AIM. I don't really think handhelds are supposed to be used for instant messaging but to use email feature which is more reliable and safer. Emails are just lightining fast like instant messaging. You would not even notice whether you are instant messaging or emailing.

Give it a shot!

Yep, the 8700g is probably the right one for you. I have one myself, and couldn't be happier. I use it for e-mails, some web surfing, Google Maps and IMs when needed. Does not have a camera, is not ideal for music. It can be powerful if you know how to make it so.

Thanks for your responses Exclusive and RickL66. I think I'll just go get the Blackberry 8700g through DeafPagers.com then.

Have a nice day. :)

Good luck Alex. I will get mine once I get the money from the same company that I have been using for 2 1/2 yrs.

Such as "Hot Spots" for the bluetooth technology?

no. Don't you know what is WAP? It stand for Wireless Application Protocol

For example...
http://mobile.yahoo.com/mail

It's less effect, very simple and quick for mobile phone

And HotSpot is use with Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is short-range baud wireless, very different than Wi-Fi.
