I've seen several televisions like that. They have a few fonts settings. I still prefer the original block-type font cuz it's easier to read and I know I'm not missing anything. For instance, standard fonts have wide letters like "W" or "M" and narrow letters like "I" or "l" (small "L"). Because of that, they make the full word shorter than normal. With block letters, the letters are spaced equally and doesn't matter what letter is used... it's still the same width.

IMO... block letters are easier to read when speed-reading.

Yes, Sharp's font have choose (i don't remember which 8 or 10 fonts), I think good "Times New Roman" or "Courier New" font good "I" as i and "l" is L, they have smooth font!
you try go Store at Fry's, Circuit City, Good Guys or any store for HDTV, you test it ,

Sharp have Arial, Courier New, Times New Roman, Arial Rounded MT Bold, Balloon, Comic Sans, I don't remember 2 or more fonts. same Microsoft's Fonts

I agree - who cares about fancy coloring or alpha transparancy.. they just get in the way. Captions are meant so you can understand whats being said and done in shows, movies, etc.. not so you can have something pretty to look at

it depends on which YPbPr or svideo cables are on and it depends on what channels are they on because if hd channel is on tv with CC then u wont see the CC on hd channels. if you have tuner box or cable box with built in CC, then u can see CC on hd channels. if you have s-video cable on, you can see any regular channel that comes with CC, not hd channel. that is big different.

we have previous postings about HDTVs in this AD because some of us are hdtv owners. Google them in this AD yourself.

one more thing.. yes sony, samsung, and phillips hdtv have built in CC. i bought hdtv sony somehow it didnt fit my truck and home so i replaced it for westinghouse hdtv lcd... like i say it depends on what channel are and what type of cable are attached on.

Hi DeafClimber,

it's not like this pic, the Motorola HTD101 just a HDTV Tuner, it's smaller box with remote, So I have Sciencfic Altanta Explorer 8300 DVR digital box. I tried to check on service menus, then the box says E05 which cannot access to service menus, could be run from cable company's computer to control service settings on every DVR boxes.

Fuck that shit. Why need add more boxes?
like that http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/sup...rams/fig10.gif
Too many boxes and not good idea for your power bill and heat temp.

ONE box is good enough! *Dvd-player, sound systems, and cable tvor satellite tv in ONE* and it looks good for LCD on wall.

LCD is best than plasma for long life but pricy.

Stupid ATI dont make HDTV for MCE YET! Why I want ATI because it always have CC. Just have ATI support MCE but non-HDTV. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116312

I help my friend for order right parts from newegg.com. So he build MCE and it work perfect. He thank me so much and save lot money. Almost less than $800 for that.

you are right, CC some not have HDTV, I told you I want who know CC HDTV's company and model put message, we read about CC on HDTV, we will go to Store, I don't buy it, first look cc or not cc, but Sharp and HP is very good than all, you try test HDTV at store, you get remote contol, hit "MENU", hit "Options", hit "Setup Caption", you see it, I know you love it than some Sony, Beno, JVC, Viewsonic (old version) have standard CC but no font, size, color, etc.. but Sharp and HP only up to 720p for only up to 32", some HDTV or HDTV without TV or/and CC, they have up to 1080i/p,

Cheap

Response Time some slow will be blurry for games and scroll Screen
--------------------------------------------------------------
* CRT - 1ms> or less - very good
* LCD (a)- old LCD few year ago - 25ms to up - it is blurry
* LCD (b)- between 8ms - 12ms - okay, good
* LCD (c)- new Viewsonic 17" and 19" 3ms-4ms! from Viewsonic and Technology will very fast 1ms> future
* Plesma - not yet
* DLP - not yet

Lifetime Screen
---------------
* CRT - 6 to up years for electonics burn
* Plasma - It is GAS, up to 30,000 hours
* LCD - up to 60,000 hours, Technology will more 70K, 80K future
* DLP - it is Projecter, up to 8,000 hours but replace chip cost $1,000
* OLED - LIFETIME! but only up to 80,000 color, Technology will be more color future

* i = interlaced (black line 1/2 frame same old Standard TV)

I found HDTV tuner box have a digital CC with font, size and etc, it's ProBrand HDTV reciever at circuit city store, and I surfed up in search box and found a website, and I checked out on the manual online, they have a digital CC settings.

http://www.eagleaspen.com/products/products_1.php?id=44

I was plan to get Motorola HDTV tuner box, then I decided to get ProBrand HDTV tuner box, I'm getting large sum refunds from paratransit (old unused tickets returned back to paratransit office) to buy ProBrand HDTV tuner box yippie!

My Dell 20" widescreen LCD rated at 16 MS, it works great! 2 MS and 16 MS may not be much difference because it's less than a second, it's milli-second...probably millionth of a second, not sure.
