vibrating alarm advice needed

I need advice. I work in a family practice center and one of my patients is becoming more and more deaf (he gets medical care for his deafness from his ENT doctor, but the rest of it from us). He needs an alarm clock to wake him up for work. He can no longer hear the loud clock that used to work. I know there are clocks that vibrate. However, when I do a google search, there are a million products. I tried calling his ENT doctor, but he doesn’t have any advice for me. So I am consulting the real experts. Have any of you had experience with these products? Which ones are good or bad? Which ones last longer? Do any come with good warranties? Do you like the wristwatch ones? Do they vibrate strongly enough?
Is the one that vibrates the whole bed really necessary? Is it comfortable to sleep on? Thank you so much.

Check out Sonic Alert at www.sonicalert.com Their vibrating clocks are popular around here. I have one myself, the Sonic Boom Alarm Clock (SB1000ss), and I believe it has a 10 year warranty.

If you go to the "Where to Purchase" section of the website, you will see several companies that offer Sonic Alert products. I recommend purchasing from Harris Communications.

Good luck.

I've had a Sonic Boom Alarm Clock for nearly 7 years. It's survived numerous drops, a move to a different house and still works fine.
I have the vibrator for it under the mattress and you can't tell it's there when it's not activated. When it goes off, it does shake the whole bed.

You might see if your area has an Independence Center, they usually can make recommendations, especially if his deafness affects his job and day to day life.

Most of the time, my BlackBerry is my vibrating alarm -- and vibrating Outlook/Calendar/Appointment reminder for my forgetful moments. Anything I add to Microsoft Outlook, it gets copied to my BlackBerry, and my BlackBerry automatically vibrates 30 minutes before the appointment!

However, I also have an old vibrating alarm for my bed too, for other times too.
