"I still represent the future of deaf society. As a member of UCI's stem cell PAC. I still advocate curing deafness. (...).

Not to mention groundbreaking ceremony next week for a new clinic at UCI that'll treat a variety of ailments using stem cells. I serve on their PAC and were going to lay out the proccess of remediating hearing loss through stem cell technology and we can go as far as treating millions and millions of unborn deaf babies".

Shame they didn't spend that $25 mil making sure that every deaf child in the States had the educational accommodations that are necessary for their success. JMO, a much better use of funding. Dealing with the situation that is, rather than going around "advocating a cure for deafness."

Are you hearing? If so, what do you have against other's choice to be hearing like you? Besides deaf or hearing, everyone deserves a good education! Being hearing is just another tool for input information and communication, but the mode used by the majority.

People may find it odd seeing hearing people advocate not for the biomedical cure of certain deafness in babies should it become common place someday. I think it would be wonderful seeing how it'd be a relief for hearing parents to have that choice.

I can say that next week I will be at a groundbreaking ceremony to a new clinic that will help the medical industry address a variety of ailments using stem cells.

I serve as a representative of the deaf community on the UCI’s Stem Cell PAC.

Clinical trials will start next year.

I don't have anything against freedom of choice. However, I do feel the need to correct you on one thing...the most recent technology, nor the technology you are referring to as a possibility in the future, will create the hearing that a "hearing" individual has.

Quite frankly, I see 25 mil spend on education for the deaf as a far better use of the money. Take care of what is.

Again, can you come up with a scientific research article anywhere in your searches, or are you limited to press releases by questionable sources?

What makes you think that hearing parents with deaf children have the need to be relieved from anything?

Remember, his POV on deafness is a curse from Satan and hearing is G*d's gift. Okay. we are cursed cos we are deaf.

Yay!

hi,
do not despair. It is a daily job, daily discussed the issue, we need to find information, share information, in various forums have shared scientific reports, I'm going to collect various scientific reports available on the internet. The main thing is the interest in stem cells, the rest will come by itself. You'll see scientific reports gradually, depending on the information we find.

I look forward to those scientific research articles. In the meantime, press releases are not necessary.

LOL. I cannot remember a single time in 23 years that I ever said, "Somebody please relieve me of my deaf kid!":giggle:

Collick? Terrible Twos? Ahhh, yeah.. All normal stuff that any parent wishes they could escape from when it happens in the moment.

A deaf child is just as special as any child would be. (but of course, you already know this! ) :)

daily discussed? you discussed nothing. you'll need to EXPLAIN the information that you have found.... but you did not do such thing. no offense but you are nothing more than a paper boy.

If we want to know more about it, we can go see specialist for that :)

btw - the scientific report does not depend on information ya'all found.
