Meridian Health & Language Access Network Sign Video Language Services Agreement - FOXBusiness.com

Meridian Health selected the Language Access Network ("LAN") as its exclusive partner to provide video language interpretation services that address the needs of its growing Limited English Proficient and Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing patient populations. These services will be delivered via LAN'S dedicated HIPAA-compliant high-speed broadband network and through its proprietary remote video interpretation platform known as Marttitm. Martti stands for My Accessible Real Time Trusted Interpreter.

"All hospitals and health care providers across the country are serving increasingly diverse patient populations, making the need for high-quality interpretation resources more important than ever," said Allyson Silva, administrator, Language Assistance Program, Meridian Health. "Through Language Access Network, we hope to provide our patients with immediate and effective communication options to ease anxiety, ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment, and support the high quality clinical care provided at our medical centers in a cost-efficient manner."

"We remain committed to providing superior language services to hospitals that enable their providers to make a difference in the lives of their patients on a daily basis," said Andrew Panos, COO of Language Access Network. "Being able to understand and, furthermore, being understood are intrinsically satisfying experiences for both patients and providers. Clear communication is vital to the provision of quality healthcare and Meridian is taking a leading role in providing these services to their communities."
