Boy (16) brutally beat deaf man - National News, Frontpage - Herald.ie

A 16-year-old boy who instigated a vicious attack on a partially-deaf man has been remanded on bail pending sentence in the Dublin Children's Court.

The man, who is in his 40s, received 30 stitches to his head and his hearing aid, worth €1,500, was completely destroyed. He also had to undergo reconstructive plastic surgery to his ear.

Judge Patrick McCarthy adjourned sentencing until September.

Before the attack the victim had been in good health but in its aftermath he suffered two heart attacks.
