Sylvia Wells joins association for deaf independent living

The Daily Times - www.delmarvanow.com - Salisbury, Md.

The Deaf Independent Living Association has named Sylvia Y. Wells development director, a role in which she will network with businesses and organizations to increase financial support for DILA initiatives, the agency announced Friday.

Wells is trained in sales, marketing and major gifts contributions, and has a master's degree in education from Virginia State University.

Wells comes to DILA from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore outside Princess Anne where she was major gifts officer.

"Sylvia has the drive, motivation and the unique skills needed for the agency to move forward with diversifying funding streams necessary to support our much needed important programs and services," said Jennifer Whitcomb, DILA executive director.

Wells intends to build relationships in communities, corporations, foundations and businesses, she said.

For more information about DILA, call 410-742-5052 (V/TTY), or visit Home of Deaf Independent Living Association (DILA).
