Reward to find deaf and near-blind Buster

icHuddersfield - Reward to find deaf and near-blind Buster

A REWARD has been offered to find a missing old dog.

Buster, a 17-year-old terrier, suffers from near-blindness, deafness and the canine equivalent of Alzheimers.

But he is a much-loved pet for owner Giselle Pears, of Kirkburton, and she is desperate to get him back.

Buster, a cross between a Jack Russell and a Staffordshire, vanished on Saturday evening when a visitor to the Pears' home in Slant Gate opened the door.

Giselle said: "We very rarely let him out and even then, he is always on a lead.

"He vanished and we could find no trace of him, which is odd as he cannot walk very far or very fast.

"I then got a call to say he had been seen in Farnley Tyas, which is a few miles away. It was a man who had found the dog wandering, had taken him home but then let him out in the early hours because he was howling so much.

"Buster needs his medication and I have offered a reward for anyone who can help us find him".

Buster is white with a smooth coat and brindle patches on his ears and his back.
