University of Bristol plans to let the Centre for Deaf Studies disappear!

The Centre for Deaf Studies is set for closure this summer, which will be formally decided on the 5 July. Three yrs ago this battle was fought and now Save Deaf Studies again needs to ask for help:

My question is: Why wasn't the offer taken when it was given?

I don't know much about the British dollars and coins different than ours in Canada. Anyway, I think the University objected or won't accepted the £100,000 subsidy if the CDS staff members should downgraded or would rather close it all together. They discriminated against the program. Not only that the University want to put them down for dirt work and get little pay wages. That is terrible. This University is not the only one. There has been happening in Germany for Deaf people who could not get some aids to help them understand what is going on in their daily lives. They want sign language, close captioned T.V., Special phone like TDD or Videophone. They want sign language interpreters in their country (East and West Germany). They are fighting for their rights in their protest. So the University of Bristol is not the only one. We get that here too in Canada. It could also happen in USA, too. We are back to square one all over again. That is terrible.
