"Song of Yesterday" by Black Country Communion.

Check out the Joe Bonamassa's (dude with black sports jacket) $250,000+ Gibson Les Paul guitar he's playing!

Lyrics:

I hold, the passion
For many years, i would listen
The heavy weight upon my chest
Like a wailing wall

Code of silence of a dying heart
Don't know where the end begins and the truth starts
When the hammer falls it falls on you
I sit here waiting, waiting

I pull back the veil and I just can't breathe, UH
And I fly away, fly away
Like a song of yesterday

Freezing night an oil lamp burns
The suns fire, will soon return
Broken castles, the flags still flown
Like a living ghost

Code of silence of a dying heart
Don't know where the end begins and the truth starts
When the hammer falls it falls on you
I sit here waiting, waiting

I pull back the veil and I just can't breathe, UH
And I fly away
Break it down, so low you don't know where you been
Try a little harder, now you're the drunk mad man in jail

I fly away
Gonna fly away
gonna fly away
Im reaching out
Like a song from yesterday

Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live in cars.

Here in my car I can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days in cars.

Here in my car
Where the image breaks down
Will you visit me please
If I open my door in cars
Here in my car I know I've started to think
About leaving tonight
Although nothing seems right in cars.

This is a song that I've been listening too recently. I've listened to several different versions and have decided that Nancy Sinatra's one is my favourite though it was written by Sonny Bono and first sung by Cher.

I don't hear music anymore either. What I "hear" is the songs in my memory. I can watch a video with the lyrics (if they have them) and if it is something I knew from my years with some hearing, then I will remember the song and can enjoy it.

Like you Kristina I can not hear music anymore. I gave my dad a grandfather clock when my son passed away many years ago. My dad has also passed about 6 years ago. When I am feeling so overwhelmed I hear the grandfather clock chimes. When I had to decide this week which ear to have the CI put in, I asked my dad to help me. All of a sudden the chimes started, but this time only in one ear. So I made my decision hoping that the ear I heard the chimes in was my "good" ear and to have my left ear implanted.

Smart choice, as I did the same thing. You might be able to enjoy music again after you get used to your CI. For me, it is the best thing about the CI, musical clarity. Not perfect, but so much better than my hearing aid.

Anyway, listening to one of my old favorites tonight:

Lyrics:

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on
Don't let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it's time to sing along
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go, (hold on)
When you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on

'Cause everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think you've had too much of this life to hang on

Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts. You are not alone

I love the Eagles music. I wish my brain would tap into my memory of the music "I" enjoyed when I could hear. All I have heard for days and days is "If your happy and you know it clap your hands" wish I could change the channel and get some Beatles music!!!!! :-)

For some reason, today all I can hear is the little finger exercises I had for piano from the John Thompson's piano course. Also the Teaching Little Fingers To Play book.

I have some hearing, yet I don't follow music. I prefer music in other languages because I don't have to worry about understanding the lyrics.

The Doors - This is the End

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land
Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah
There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby
Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us
The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...WAAAAAA
C'mon baby,--------- No "take a chance with us"
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
C'mon, yeah
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end
