I have this song in my head today, dug up from memory. For all you hearing old folks, enjoy! Sorry, no CC or subtitles.
Ball of Confusion by Temptations People movin' out People movin' in Why, because of the color of their skin Run, run, run, but you sho' can't hide An eye for an eye A tooth for a tooth Vote for me, and I'll set you free Rap on brother, rap on Well, the only person talkin' 'Bout love thy brother is the preacher And it seems, Nobody is interested in learnin' But the teacher Segregation, determination, demonstration, Integration, aggravation, Humiliation, obligation to our nation Ball of Confusion That's what the world is today The sale of pills are at an all time high Young folks walk around with Their heads in the sky Cities aflame in the summer time And, the beat goes on Air pollution, revolution, gun control, Sound of soul Shootin' rockets to the moon Kids growin' up too soon Politicians say more taxes will Solve everything And the band played on So round 'n' round 'n' round we go Where the world's headed, nobody knows Just a Ball of Confusion Oh yea, that's what the wold is today Fear in the air, tension everywhere Unemployment rising fast, The Beatles' new record's a gas And the only safe place to live is On an indian reservation And the band played on Eve of destruction, tax deduction City inspectors, bill collectors Mod clothes in demand, Population out of hand Suicide, too many bills, hippies movin' To the hills People all over the world, are shoutin' End the war And the band played on. This man's voice sent shivers down my spine many times. A beautiful video.
Lyrics embedded in the video... C'est la vie - That's Life C'est la vie Have your leaves all turned to brown Will you scatter them around you C'est la vie Do you love And then how am I to know If you don't let your love show for me C'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Who knows, who cares for me C'est la vie In the night Do you fight a lover's fire Do the ashes of desire for you remain Like the sea There's a love to deep to show Took a storm before my love Flowed for you C'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Who knows, who cares for me C'est la vie Like a song Out of tune and out of time All I needed was a rhyme for you C'est la vie Do you give Do you live from day to day Is there is no song I can play for you C'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Who knows, who cares for me C'est la vie

This one goes out to you and yours worldwide I say Hey I be gone today But I be back around the way Seems like everywhere I go The more I see the less I know But I know one thing: That I love you I love you I love you I love you I’ve been a lot of places all around the way I’ve seen a lot joy and I’ve seen a lot of pain but I don’t want to write a love song for the world, I just want to write a song about a boy and a girl Junkies on the corner always calling my name And the kids on the corner playing ghetto games When I saw you getting down well I hoped it was you And when I looked into your eyes I knew it was true I say Hey I be gone today But I be back around the way Seems like everywhere I go The more I see the less I know But I know one thing: That I love you I love you I love you I love you Now I’m not a highly metaphysical man But I know when the stars are aligned you can bump into person in the middle of the road look into their eyes and you suddenly know Rocking in the dance hall moving with you Dancing in the night in the middle of June My momma told me don’t lose you ‘cause the best look I had was you I said Hey I be gone today But I be back around the way Seems like everywhere I go The more I see the less I know But I know one thing: That I love you I love you I love you I love you And I said rocking in the dance hall moving with you I said Hey momma hey momma close to you Rocking in the dance hall moving with you I said hey papa hey papa kick off your shoes Rocking in the dance hall moving with you I said Hey Momma close to you Rocking in the dance hall moving with you I said hey momma hey momma hey momma hey momma Hey momma hey momma hey momma hey momma My momma told me don’t lose you Cause the best look I had was you And I know one thing that I love you I said I be gone today but I’ll be back around the way It seems like everywhere I go The more I see the less I know But I know one thing for sure I love you I love you I love you |

Pride can stand a thousand trials The strong will never fall But watching stars without you, My soul cried. Heaving heart is full of pain, Oh, oh, the aching. 'Cause I'm kissing you, oh. I'm kissing, oh. Touch me deep, pure and true!Gift to me forever. 'Cause I'm kissing you, oh I'm kissing you. Where are you now? 'Cause I'm kissing you I'm kissing you, oh, ohhhh! |

I've got a ditty going through my head and can't remember all the words. I know my brother used to sing it all the time and drove us nuts. It starts out like this:
I'm looking over my dead dog Rover that I ran over with the mower One leg ..... ..... ..... .... No need explaining the one remaining, it's over by the cellar door. |

It has been driving me up the wall. I don't know who sings it and I can't figure out the lyrics and its playing like a cognitive itch from hell. Tinnitis is really making it worse too. So far, from memory (and my memory is pretty good) the singer is male, the song sounds like "Keep on rockin in the free world" by Neil Young (except it isnt the song) and the singer could be John Fogerty, Tom Petty, Neil Young, George Thorogood, Stevie Ray Vaughn ..... I can't figure it out. |

What code do you all use to post video? Duran Duran Rio Moving on the floor now babe you're a bird of paradise. Cherry ice cream smile - I suppose it's very nice With a step to your left and a flick to the right You catch that mirror way out west You know you're something special and you look like you're the best... Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand. Just like that river twisting through a dusty land. And when she shines she really shows you all she can Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande... I've seen you on the beach and I've seen you on TV Two, of a billion stars, it means so much to me Like a birthday or a pretty view But then I'm sure that you know it's just for you! Hey now, look at that. Did he really run you down? At the end of the drive, the lawmen arrive you make me feel alive alive alive! I'll take my chance 'cause luck is on my side I tell you something I know what you're thinking... I tell you something, I know what you're thinking... Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand Just like that river twists across a dusty land. And when she shines she really shows you all she can. Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande Her name is Rio she don't need to understand I might find her if I'm looking like I can Oh Rio, Rio hear them shout across the land From mountains in the North down to the Rio Grande...

"Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd
Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone at home? Come on, now. I hear you're feeling down. Well I can ease your pain And get you on your feet again. Relax. I need some information first. Just the basic facts Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain you are receding A distant ship, smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons. Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain you would not understand This is not how I am. I have become comfortably numb. (solo) I have become comfortably numb. O.K. Just a little pin prick. There'll be no more AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! But you may feel a little sick. Can you stand up? I do believe it's working. Good. That'll keep you going through the show. Come on it's time to go. There is no pain you are receding A distant ship, smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse Out of the corner of my eye I turned to look but it was gone I cannot put my finger on it now The child is grown, The dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb. (solo 2)

'Let Go' by Frou Frou
I absolutely adore this song sung so beautifully by Imogen Heap. This first clip has the whole song by Frou Frou.
I first heard it at the end of 'Garden State' and couldn't get the song out of my head. See subtitled clip below (but it doesn't have the whole song). A brilliant film and such an emotional ending! ![]() |
