Hi all,

First off, if I say anything that sounds rude, I'm extremely sorry. I don't mean to say anything insensitive, but I am still such a beginner when it comes to knowing about deafness so I'm sure there are things I just don't understand yet. I've already mistakenly insulted someone and I would be terrified if I did that again. Don't be shy to call me out if I deserve it!

I'm writing a short film about a violinist who discovers that she is losing her hearing in a short period of time. After coping with the news, she decides that she wants to perform on stage for an audience one time so that she can hear people appreciating the craft she's passionate about. Her father is not a nice guy and does not approve of her playing the violin. In addition, she faces a difficult transition period (musically) adjusting to her slowly deteriorating hearing.

I am a musician (drums, guitar) so I understand the musical side of things very well, feel free to get into detail about that as well.

My biggest concern is that, although I've tried to accurately represent the situation, there are inevitably feelings/circumstances/limitations that I do not understand perfectly about losing one's hearing. I would appreciate if anyone is willing to have a read (it's about 12 pages) and give me some feedback?

I'm looking at feedback regarding:

- Is her behaviour realistic?
- What part of the emotional journey is missing here?
- What would you like to see added to this story that would really make this feel authentic for anyone in similar circumstances?
- Anything else you would like to add.

If you're interested, please contact me on ehsanalawadhi@gmail.com or give me your email address and I will contact you. I really appreciate the help. I'm sure I will learn a ton, but more importantly I hope anyone who watches my film learns a lot about the subject as well.
