My dream is studying in USA... I'm very determined!
Firstly - I want to apologise for my English, its my second language.
Secondly - I know, KweenSasha from Bahamas started a similar topic, but my problem is a little different. I'm from Poland and I actually go to high school. In May '09 I'll finish HS and I'll write Polish exams a'la SAT. I never been in United States but I love this country and I would like there to study. I have a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss since birth and I use hearing aids. I know, my English is poorly so I want go to USA in order to learn English well. I would like to learn to TALK [not write on paper] in this language with hearing persons and ASL with deaf. I interested in travel and in life I would like to travel, so I need a good knowledge of English. I also want get to know the deaf culture... I am a sport photographer, I want in the U.S. to go to soccer matches [and might even play in the school team? My dreams!] Its would give me experience on women's soccer. I am also a huge fan U.S. women's national soccer team [my YouTube page: www.youtube.com/martynnny ] So I can say one thing: I am determined and I do everything to study. Impossible is nothing. But what should I do? Whether in the process of studies I can have courses English language and ASL? How can I join to university and how much is it studies? I am able to work as a photographer, I can work everywhere in order to earn for studies. Does the rest of deaf students that helped me? Where I wanted to study? I thinked about the CSUN, about the academic program of geography. But this is probably the program for the hearing.. Sorry for so many questions, but I hope that you help me And sorry for my English and I hope you understand me.Best regards, Asia |

Actually, Asia, any program in the U.S. is open to the deaf student. We simply make accommodations. Good luck in the pursuit of your studies. |

Lol, PowerOn Asia is simply form from the name Joanna and in Poland 'Asia' doesn't mean the continent Continent 'Asia' in Polish is 'Azja'. USA in Polish is Stany Zjednoczone |

Don't be afraid to walk around. Just be sure to have a mace with you.
Take those course known as "ESL: English as Second Language", I'm sure they'll help you, they helped my friend from Italy and German and today they live in California with a degree. Lucky them. |
