Many RAs tend to work for only one year. Several RAs work for two years and it is rare that the RAs work for three years. I worked as SRA for 1 1/2 years which was enough for me.

![]() Cogswell of course is for Alice Cogswell, and her father Mason Cogswell. Ballard is for Melville Ballard, he was the first person ever to graduate from Gallaudet. He received his degree in 1866. You can read about him here: Ballard Residential Complex - North & West - Gallaudet University Krug is for Walter Krug, he graduated from Gallaudet in 1927. He was a faculty member and he was the "dean of men" for many years...was in charge of making sure the male students behaved and did well. ![]() Benson is for Elizabeth Benson, she was a hearing person who was an interpreter, a faculty member, and the "dean of women" - same job that Krug had. The most famous dean of women was Elizabeth Peet, and Peet Hall is named for her. You can read about Elizabeth Benson here: Benson Hall - Gallaudet University |
