The tunnel connects to all dorms and there are several laundry rooms. There is a corner store and a cellar (bar, of sort). I like the tunnel so I can visit friends in other dorms without putting on a coat.

I was a Resident Advisor for almost 2 years. I had a few residents who were skipping class or not doing well in school. They had perfect attendance, then suddenly stopped going to class. They were doing well in class, then suddenly flunking a bunch of stuff. Either way, my boss was informed by RIT and passed the word along to me... for me to check into it and see what was wrong. It was usually depression, new girlfriend/boyfriend, drugs/alcohol, homesickness, etc.
This is a good idea. A guy had commit sucide (not in the dorms, out in the woods) not long before I went to NTID. RA could possibly stop a student from doing the same. This is a good idea and I don't know what was the policy back then in '70s.

Uh, I am a returning student at RIT and I can guarantee with 100 percent honesty that there is no bar in the tunnels.

I'm sorry but when I see people act like they know everything then get everything wrong, I feel like it is in my nature to correct them on everything they say.

And you do realize that 70's policy and 2000's policy are vastly different, right?

Yep! I was a student there in the late 90's and now I am a student there again, and I can honestly that there has been SOME changes to the policy.

Yes, I guess at that. I was a student there in late 70's to early 80's. I am sure that there are new buildings that I won't know.

Are you saying that there is no bar in the tunnel anymore??? There was a bar when I was a student (late 70's to early 80's). I can't remember under what dorm it was. I remember I had to pass the Corner store (going away from Tower A/Ellingson [sp?]) to get to the bar. It is small and you can order sandwiches or pizza along with beer, etc. There is a video game there. You said you was a student in late 90's. They could have shut down the bar by then. My turn to correct you. :-) There was a bar in the tunnel in my time. By the way, where do you go for a bar - off campus?? Is the Corner store still there ?

I remember the paintings on the walls in the tunnel. I like that because it helped me figure out what dorm I was under. I won't be surprised if some of the paintings were painted over. Some paintings should be replaced but there are some paintings I really like. Like the dancing hands with unplugged jukebox(?). Is that painting still there? How about the tiger ? The painting of an indian woman should be replaced - is it gone?

RIT used to be a wet campus years ago. There was probably a bar in the tunnels... supposedly where Ritchies is right now.

Could you be more specific about the paintings?

From what I've seen, a lot of the murals haven't changed. A few were painted over due to renovations of the dorms during 1998 to 2001. Some murals were painted over by organizations that "upgraded" themselves.

Yeah, probably.

But a rumor, I repeat a rumor has it that it will be a wet campus again thanks to William Destler.

I'll be seeing you around the campus, Vamp.

Personally, I'd like to see some restoration work done to these murals. So people can see the beauty in them. And people wonder why I look at these walls all the time.

No. It's pointless to talk to a wall.

Nah, you're the wall because you're way too stubborn to admit that you can make mistakes with your facts. Not surprising because anyone who's immersed into the deaf culture has the same mentality as you do, being stubborn and refusing to concede and accept they made mistakes.

Remember, each time a deaf person in said culture make a mistake and doesn't treat it as such, I will always be right there to correct them. Everyone deserves to know the truth about RIT. Consider me the truth police

And when have I ever said he was wrong? You might want to stop lying so much and try to open your eyes a little more. Only then you will realize the truth.

the dance floor is in black/white checkerboard style. all the dancers are hands - no face just a hand as a person. there is a woman in skirt dancing with her boyfriend you can tell by the hands that they are lovers. there is a hand that looks like a fist - a trouble maker? there is a plug but it is not plugged in - silence.

It would be really nice if you can take digital pictures of all the murals and put it online in here.

What is Ritchies???

Could you PM me those pictures or the link to those pictures? I would be happy to tell you which one exists in my time. That would bring good memories of NTID. Thanks!

Could you fill me in about William Destler??
