Anyone willing to help for special ed. project?

Hello my name is Liz and I'm a liberal studies major at CSUN. I am currently taking a special education class right now and I was given an assignment to interview an individual with special needs who is of college age or older. If anyone is willing to let me interview them by asking a couple of questions through e-mail, that would be great. If you're at CSUN, can't you just hop down to NCOD (National Center on Deafness) and ask someone there?

I thought CSUN has a deaf ed or deaf studies program? I know a lot of deaf people who attend or graduated from CSUN?

Yes you are right...lots of deafies attend there..... I am puzzled at this person asking us.. CSUN is about 1 1/2 hours drive from me... I wonder if you know Mel Carter????

My teacher already attempted to find us some deaf students to interview and a classmate tried to find us some students as well but I guess no one was willing to be interviewed. That's why I came to this forum to ask. I really really really need someone to interview and it would be great if anyone can volunteer. There are just a couple of questions which won't take much time.

I am a current student at CSUN, and I know there are many people who would be willing to be interviewed, though I know the label "special needs" isn't great. There are over 200 Deaf students at CSUN, as well as Deaf faculty, there are also many people with learning disabilities on campus as well. If you actually make the effort, you should have NO problem finding a person to be interviewed. You can go to the student lounge at NCOD, find someone from there. One question though, do you sign? I'm guessing not, so then you will either need to write back and forth, or get an interpreter.

Mel Carter retired almost two years ago, so it is very possible she doesn't know him. I never was able to be a student of his, too bad, I've heard he was a great teacher.
