I stumbled upon the link via www.deafdc.com.

If you have resources where I could find more info., I'd really appreciate it.
Adam Stone, one of the regulars at DeafDC, already went to two presentations and penned some commentary at his blog, 'Thus Spake Weiner' and 'Ron Stern, Rock Star'. I'm looking forward to his take on Jane Fernandes' presentation, and the usual witty title/quip.

Adam Stone is an old friend of an ex. Though Adam and I haven't spoken in years, I always enjoy reading his witty musings.

Here is what I got in my e-mail for Pittsburgh Deaf events about Gallaudet's next President.

Here is some voting advice :

Do you know that there are now three finalists to become the next president
of Gallaudet University? They are Jane Fernandes, Ron Stern, and Steve
Weiner. Go to check www. gallypreswatch.com. Please vote for Ron Stern
because he will be very good president of Gallaudet University. He is full
deaf and cant read lips well. He is superdinement of New Mexico School for
the Deaf. Many students do not like Jane Fernandes because they said she is
very rude and not clear to communication with them. Many people do not like
Steve Weiner because his clothes are very messy and he is lazy.

Jane Fernandes seem to be a better choice for that position!

While I agree that a deaf university should have a Deaf president, and am pleased that the 3 finalists are all deaf, I don't know that I would consider their "degree" of deafness when picking the most qualified. Admittedly, I know very little about the candidates, but I'd rather know that the president is an intelligent, responsible person, as opposed to someone who "cant read lips well." I don't really see how this makes a person a more qualified pick.

Mr. Ron Stern was the big boss of the N.M. School f/t Deaf which means he got hands on experience and knows his stuff. That was what the voting advice was about and he is 100% Deaf culture too as well.

I don't know what you are talking about. Isn't being "political correct" a good thing? Knock yourself out... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness

Interesting! where did you find that picture? I recongized those three guys who are a member of Kappa Gamma committees; John, Andrew, and Adam. I am not a student at gallaudet university and I go to a different university. It seems like you guys know who is Ronald Stern. I met one of Ron's daugthers in London last Fall. Also, I have heard of Brendan Stern, but I've never spoken to him in person.

Yeah, didn't you know that? I saw one of your posts and you are going to Gallaudet. If you have seen Bren or Ron around, you can ask them. I'm pretty sure they will confirm it
