Richard, do you have any materials for hearing children to help learn about ASL or deaf culture or anything like that?

We did a 50 page book on ASL and deaf culture education for kids in 2002 and I got enormous flak for it because a few of the ASL militants felt they were never consulted in which we had Pamela Labianco as one of our ASL consultants to this project.

The flak was enormously huge and some of the shrapnel came from the State Attorney General, Franchise Tax Board, and Internal Revenue Service office. And some of our board members ranted I was out of control and 2 the ASL cultural members resigned from our board afterwards.

It was a difficult experience for us and I feel I'm going to wait a few more years for the ASL militants to weaken even more before we re-release the book to the public.

We've just began the re-design of our deaf awareness coloring books. We've decided to include all the elements from the old book however there will be more graphics than words so the ASL militants wont be so afraid of the excessive English language being mixed into the deaf awareness education booklets this time.

What s that supposed to be called ASL militants?? We are not afraid of anything while we did learned the best we can use our English written. I have seen ASL without orally speaking people who write so beautifully in the past as I witnessed myself. Scoffs! Guess what Oral method took over ASL that IS when it s all mess up for d/Deaf children after all we forced to learn how to speak and listen with those stupid device that doesnt help much in many ways that is not a true language from the start. THATS ORALISM Militants ' destroy our true language from the start. They have no respect for Laurent Clerc who made the difference for us deafies to have a better view on English written with our ASL. At that time native sign language is a true language that Hearing people in Martha Vineyard who does not have any problem with English written or Native sign language that all people on the islander were very successful altogether before Oralism took over.. WTF!!!

Please stop using your own Excuse excuse about d/Deaf natural people and our true lanuguage as usual .. It is very poor reason to point that out on ASLers people... Thats audist attitude s negative view on our true language that works out so well for both sides and destroy from their wrong reason. Audist attitude people created too much artificial languages since we already have ASL/SE that goes BI BI language with or without orally speaking nowdays.

Whats more some deafies or hearing have no respect for Deaf 's language that hurts us more than you think. Also they have no manners or respect deafies who worked so hard and did the best they can that their second language after they forced to read their different lip movement that we miss out and prevents them to learn English.. So butt out!

Leave deafies people alone who have tried to express their true inner soul and mind that has been destroyed too because it has to be audist attitude people 's thinking to be the answer in their own ways for them.. Scoffs! No wonder deafies walked away from audist attitude people 's disrespect.
