Arrow Minnesota State School For The Deaf Got Some Big Bucks!! $$,$$$,$$$.cc

My oldest brother told me about this, so I thought I'd paste this so all can see.

Education requests Published (3/1/2006)

http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/hin...05&storyid=665

The state academies for the deaf and blind and one arts school seek a combined $13.6 million in bonding for building and grounds improvements.

Heard by the House Education Finance Committee, the proposals will be considered by the committee in its final bonding recommendations.

Sponsored by Rep. Patti Fritz (DFL-Faribault), HF2650 would provide $5.6 million for a renovation of a dormitory, $4.5 million for asset preservation and $1.5 million for roads and storage facilities. Senate Minority Leader Dick Day (R-Owatonna) sponsors a companion, SF2494.

HF2966, sponsored by Rep. Ron Latz (DFL-St. Louis Park), would provide $1.05 million to the Perpich Center for Arts Education for building maintenance. It has no Senate companion.

The academies serve 500 deaf and blind students in a residential setting and the Perpich Center is dedicated to improving the state’s arts education.

MSSD (now called MSAD) was established in 1864. My French ancestors settled Faribault before that...so we been there for a while, eh?

Unhappy

When I was first diagnosed with being hoh, my mother wanted me to attend there, but my dad said, "costs money." I wasn't able to, sure wish I did, though.
